Bank holidays - nanny payment

If I use a nanny for 2 and 1/2 days at the end of the week should I split the cost of bank holidays which are obviously mostly on Mondays with the person who uses her for an equal amount of time at the beginning of the week?
This seems to be the expected scenerio. What are the rules regarding bank holidays?

Oh, another thing, how much spending money does she get? For example, I give our nanny £70 per month, a bus pass, and a mobile phone to cover whatever she orgaises for them to do in the month. So, if say you give a budget of £70 and the other family gives one of £150, then that isn't going to work very well.

Oh, another thing, what kinds of food are acceptable for the childrem. Tesco ready made value meals or home cooked organic? You should agree the standards to be adhered to with other parent.

Eleusis has brought up some very good points.

I hope you manage to have a meeting soon to sort out contracts etc.

I've been approached twice this week re nanny share & I must say this has really put me off the whole idea.

Eleusis,
You have raised several things I hadn't thought about.I know nanny shares are often fraught with difficulty.
I will act upon what you have suggested.
Thankyou

ScottishThistle, I think nanny shares are perfectly doable but the parents need to explore the situation in depth to make sure they are compatible before the contracts are signed. And they are financially beneficial to all. The parents would expect to spend say 60% of what they would spend for a nanny who works just for them (this applies only to shared time, the Wednesday in this case), and then the nanny makes about 10% more than if she works for only one family. So, nanny makes a bit more to compemsate for added hassle of having two employers.

We share our nanny on a very part time basis. She lives with us and works for us full time. Then, on two days per week she also works for another family. She makes more money, it doensn't bother me any. DD gets to play with a friend from school, and everybody is happy.

I know Eleusis, I've a friend who had a great position but the Parents were best friends & all was great.

I can just envision no end of problems re nursery holidays/my own holidays to be honest & I'm sure my Boss would be very sceptical though I haven't even mentioned it to her.
