mindee turned up this morning at 8.30......NOT 9.30 as agreed......has just been to toilet and while doing a wee, mindee said i've pooed as well...didnt realise, so very loose(sorry tmi!)...i asked if she has had a poorly tummy this morning at mummys??..yes..and a nanas at weekend!...so mum drops of knowing her dd is poorly and doesnt think to mention it

Yes, still got email. Will send noow (well, if don't get straight away it means I can't collect it via my network and will have to get off my lazy arse and go upstairs!! )

StrawberrySnowflakes · 19/03/2007 14:03

Fair enough! - bit early for hammering on the door! Yes, you will just have to remind them of the contracted hours. I've got one who comes at 6.30 and I often see him pull up at 6.15, but he waits in the car til it's time. I could open the door and say I'm ready, but then he may start expecting it, so he will have to sit!

StrawberrySnowflakes · 19/03/2007 14:12

thing is you do it once(like i have) and they expect dont they!..i expect they are all really really nice really but in this way, they take massive amounts of liberties!

Sorry, had to get off my bum afterall and send from the office. Done now so let me know if you don't get it.

SHOSHAlee · 19/03/2007 14:19

Strawbs stop saying chick, I get visions of a pink Chick fluttering down everytime!

Katy44 · 19/03/2007 14:20

This is so rude!
I know it would be a pain, but if she does this every day can you be out for the next couple of days until 5 minutes before you're meant to start?

StrawberrySnowflakes · 19/03/2007 14:21

???eh????..a pink chick?
its something my grandad used to always say..i dont like the usual hun so thought chick was friendly but not OTT!

and Looneytune..thanks CHICK!

im not even ready Katy44, as dd has to be at nursery, but am thinking of being in payroom at back of house on mornings instead of front near front door so we can ignore them, but dd will prob tell them!LOL

Katy44 · 19/03/2007 14:25

Right, didn't think it would be easy but it would be so tempting!
Can you take the batteries out of your doorbell (I have no idea how they work!!) and then quite honestly say you didn't hear it? Oh no, cos then they'll bang on the door!
Of course you could do all the other 'grown up' suggestions on this thread

SHOSHAlee · 19/03/2007 14:26

Ok shall I spell it properlike this time StrawberryChick

StrawberrySnowflakes · 19/03/2007 14:30

LOL katy44, i like you, you talk first and think later like [me LOL..me and dd will be hiding in playroom till big ben strikes!

Hello mindee mum here - I would def say something in your newsletter along the lines of my standard working hours are eg

8.30am - 5.30pm I am not available for work outside these times.

Should you wish to use me outside your contracted hours which are
9.30am - 5.30pm

(adjust for each child)

this is possible by prior arrangement at a charge of 125% of usual rate. If it occurs without prior arrangement of at least (24/48 hours) than it will be charged at a rate of 200%

I actually think ofsted insist this kind of thing is good practice check that out and if it is an ofsted requirement state that in your newsletter too.

That parent is taking the mick - I feel bad for turning up 5 minutes early to my cm! Also in extenuating circumstances you can waive the fees to those parents who genuinely don't mess you about.

HTH give you the confidence to do it!

StrawberrySnowflakes · 19/03/2007 14:37

thats fab Looneytune!
can i pinch and tweak it???

StrawberrySnowflakes · 19/03/2007 14:38

thanks cargirl, nice to hear parents can be as conciensious

OP posts:
CarGirl · 19/03/2007 14:40

It just annoys me - some of the cm I know are too hot and inflexible on stuff like this but I do feel some parents just don't think/realise/see that it is a job - you don't cm because you feel like it - it's your profession etc but you do it for the money - just like they work for the money!

looneytune · 19/03/2007 14:41

Do whatever you want with it Just hope it's useful to you.

StrawberrySnowflakes · 19/03/2007 15:19

it will be thanks and you have phrased it very friendly but to the point, only thing i will add other than adjust is a signature at bottom so i can confirm they all agree!

OP posts:
looneytune · 19/03/2007 15:40

Yep, you need to do that if it's not already in your contracts. Mine was in my contracts so this was more a reminder they will be charged type thing!

StrawberrySnowflakes · 19/03/2007 15:43

ah, so an 'ammendment to contract' form should be made up too???or would signature on bottom of that suffice?

OP posts:
looneytune · 19/03/2007 15:44

Well, I PERSONALLY prefer an amendment to contract but don't suppose it matters. I'll send you an amendment to contract that I've done for change of hours/extra day, in case it helps.

StrawberrySnowflakes · 19/03/2007 16:31

eeee, yer a marvel..ta CHICK
