Nannies - ever feel like just the nanny?

I currently work 3 part time jobs - absolutely love 2 of them but 1 I feel like just the nanny.

The 2 I love I feel part of the family & 1 of them even invites me to family days out & gatherings.

One of them literally just see me as someone who will tidy the house, cook the dinner & do all the things there are too lazy to do with their child. And refer to me as just the nanny.

I don't expect to be asked to trips etc & a lot of the time I do refuse due to having my own life etc.

I just feel never at ease when working for the family who refer to me as 'just the nanny'. Wasn't invited to the child's birthday or anything like that.

Being a nanny IS different to being "just an employee" as a parent you are trusting your most precious people into someone else's care, I say this as a former nanny (20+years) and as a parent. I would recommend all nannies and employers of nannies read "Nanny knows best, a history of the British Nanny"
