I've been a bit of a lurker on your posts but I'm guessing there is a change in your working circumstances regarding some of your "clients" (that sounds dodgy!)? If so, well done, about bloody time! :o

Saltire · 07/03/2011 14:59

I know I have.
Straw that broke the camels back was Friday - met the mums boss whilst I was out with mindees. Apparently mum had taken day off after ringing work and telling them I was "very ill" with D&V bug and unable to look after her Dcs. Because her Dh ahad the day off, so she decided that finishing at 12 and spending afternoon with him wasn't enough, she'd lie about me to get whole day off to spend with him.

I know many of you felt I was wrong to complain aobut what parents did when they weren't at work. The mum works 7.45 till 12 every day, and the dad , for example last week had 3 days off, yet the DCs were still got up at 6am to bring to me for 7.30am. The original contract was to only have when dad was at work. it went from that to 10 hour days 5 days a week. I don't want to work 50 hours a week especially when I don't need to.

That's my choice though, and there are other issues bigger more serious issues that need to be dealt with

Well done, I have followed some of your threads on this family. It really couldn't continue.

I do wonder why these people had children in the first place.

so glad you always had my suport.. well done and good luck.. hjave a nice glass tonight..

Saltire · 07/03/2011 19:05

She's in big trouble with her work , to whoever asked.

DH and I ahd a discussion on Friday night, after the incident. He rang her boss and had a chat with them. We both feel that there are so many issues - the main ones for me being the amount of hours they wanted me to work (uneccesarily IMO) and the sickness thing they wanted written into contracts. Other issues to which have come to light over the past few days.

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/03/2011 14:43

so have you any new mindes/parents lined up?

lollipopmother · 08/03/2011 21:44

About time too Saltire, although I must say, I could always count on your posts to make me feel grateful for the mindees & parents that I have! Grin

I have to admit that whilst it is not our business what parents do when we have their children, if they had changed the contracted hours and you weren't happy with it then that is reason enough to get rid. I have had parents go off on a jaunt when I'm looking after their kids and it does pee me off sometimes, it completely depends on the circumstances though of course.

Saltire · 09/03/2011 08:18

Thanks for all your messages of supportGrin.
I have got some part time mindees lined up, which to be honest, suits me beter. The original contract with these current mindees was to only have on days dad was working which was why i agreed in first place.

I will admit to being a bit concerned though, their car is kaput - and accrding to the dad it is going to cost them £2000 to repair, and he was moaning aobut it yesterday when he came round.
However, him and the mum are going off today on a 4 day break, "to get some time away from the kids" to London. I am a bit Hmm by this, especially as he said he was going to have to try and get a second job to help pay for car, so I am worried they might to not pay me for the last 4 weeks
