CM Club: kissing mindees on the lips

Long story short, can't go into much detail for obvious reasons.

I never actively seek to kiss any mindees on the lips they are usually walking germ bags!. A mindee (1.5 yrs, wanted to give me a kiss goodbye and kissed me on the lips, in that puckered lips style kiss IYKWIM.

All hell has broken lose and I really didn't think it was an issue. What's the consensus?!

I can't read this thread anymore! It's making me miss the snuggles and the kisses!! Grin

My very first mindee is now in yr 13 and the last one I had is in yr1! Thankfully, he only lives nextdoor, so I steal him now and again! In fact, if my backdoor is open, he's usually through the ajoining fence and sitting in my kitchen talking to me, before I know it! Grin

my kids have always kissed their cm on the lips...............i see her as more or less part of the family. DS has been going to her for over 8 years and dd has known her and her family since birth. I think a CM is different to a teacher/ta/nursery worker as the relationship is closer and more informal

PC gone mad IMO.

Children do have to be protected, that goes without saying, but, as a nanny the parents want me to take care of their children just as they would and that includes cuddles and affection.

I do feel uncomfortable with my charges kissing on the lips and always avoid, but, never hesitate to say "love you" in front of parents/grandparents/teachers etc. I do love them, granted they are not my own children, but, like someone said earlier, how can you not feel some affection towards a child who is a huge part of your life monday-friday for years on end sometimes?

madness! we have a nanny and my DD (aged 1) INSISTS on a kiss on the lips. as far as she is concerned, a kiss is a kiss on the lips and she will hound you round the house, saying 'uh uh uh' and pointing to her lips and your lips until you kiss her on the lips. she does this to everyone she meets pretty much - male, female, familiar or stranger!

the nanny never actually tells my DCs she loves them, but if she is asked if she does, she will say 'yes'. i kind of hope she does - the amount of time she spends with them!! and they certainly absolutely adore her.

perhaps it is different when the kids are bigger? really though - it is madness. what you poor CMs have to put up with...

Magic it's not about protecting children in these circs, it's about protecting the CM from unfounded allegations

I hope that no one thinks I am advocating arms-length care, I'm not, at all
