What do your lady bits look like after vaginal birth?

Is it just ME or is anyone else a bit shocked by the appearance of their bits after giving birth vaginally?

I mean all I seem to see is the internal muscles - I'm sure there used to be more external skin there.

Should I just stop looking?!

(I'm not using my normal nickname on this thread, no chance!)

JoosToo: there is NO WAY I'm outing myself!!! It's bad enough that Justine knows...

That prolapse makes my undercarriage look like the height of glamour!

I'm still sniggering (or should that be wincing?)at JoolsToo's Bayeux tapestry comment with regard to stitches!

JoolsToo · 24/05/2005 21:08

The Bayeaux Tapestry is a thing of beauty

but I'm just not believing this poster - sorry!

PinkFluffPudding · 24/05/2005 21:08

I'm not sure if I've purposefully checked... I think i must have noticed something amiss when i did my own bikini line the other month (of course when you're doing your own it's always easier to use a mirror and take yer kecks off). Certainly feels the same!

By the way those pics of prolapsed fannies are totally grim. EEuuurrgh. Pleased I've finished my supper!

NomDePlume · 24/05/2005 21:09

oh my god @ the 'inside out' vagina. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeek

Fio2 · 24/05/2005 21:10

i grazed up both of my labia and was told i didnt need stitches. a week later i noticed i was still really sore when i went to the loo so had a bit of a feel and to my horror realised that the grazes had started to knit together, effectively closing me up down there. i asked the midwife if it was possible and she laughed and told me it shouldnt happen. i said shouldnt or 100% absolutely wont? she sais err..ill have a look and was really impressed that i was right! thankfully it had only just started and she just pulled me apart but she asked around and only one other midwife had even heard of it happening and the poor woman had needed to be surgically sliced [shudder]

Dh was asking me how they were going to 'repair' me next week {I'm not anything like that inside out piccy btw at that one!) Foolysh, I can now show him exactly what my stitches will look like, although I'm not sure i really wanted to know myself serve me right for clicking on it I suppose

I think this is a perfectlty reasonable concern after a vaginal birth. Why would this thread be fake?!!

I dont believe most of y'all, "I never looked" "no not me" uh-huh!

I looked and i nearly passed out it looks very unlike it did before No-one needs graphics but I'm not ashamed to say that i wasnt impressed, 1000 pelvic floors each day me thinks!

Fortunately the important bits still work, my dp cant see a difference (or he's a good liar).

I cant see why anyone should be embarrassed to post on this thread!!??

I was shocked at my bits before the birth!

Evs09 · 24/05/2005 22:05

Once it was`all over the birth that is I couldnt give a damn

tooembarassingbyfar · 24/05/2005 22:07

tamula, you dont see why people are embarassed because your vagina didnt try to seal itself up!

Ooh got distracted by the telly there but reassured that I'm not the only person who's looked! Or the only person who's a bit chopped up down there.

CAT me JoosToo and I'll put you out of your misery.

tooembarassingbyfar: big lol!

(How does labia grazing happen? Never understood that? Sounds like carpet burns?!)

mmmmchocolate · 24/05/2005 22:13

I had labia grazing, and believe its a stretch thats doesn'y quite tear, had 3cm ones each side and was painful for about 6 weeks, HV said it would of prob been better if i had torn and been stiched up as would of healed better.
