Decided we can't afford a HypnoBirth course, so am going to try a CD instead. Recommendations?

I am a complete cynic though...

I seem to remember that this book (Birthing from Within: An Extraordinary Guide to Childbirth) was quite useful with some good ideas for women who had experienced traumatic first births. You might find that of interest.

Good luck! xx

Thanks mp. bonym recommended "Birthing from Within" too so I'm bidding for it on eBay

bonym, if you're still around, I've just started a 'wanted' thread for the Natal CDs - please let me know if you're finished with yours

If you are talking about Gaskin and Kizinger than I definitely recommend M. Odent's books....

2nd Aug for us.

franch · 17/05/2005 14:18

5 Sept. Will do my best to get through 'Birthing from Within' but that'll be my lot - DD doesn't give me much time for reading

Hi Franch

I haven't read all of thread, but was very interested in what I did read.

I used Second Nature Birth Programme with my ds and I found it sooooo helpful!! You start this programme if I can remember around 20weeks?? and it consists of 3 cd's. 1 cd gives lots of helpful information on labour, breathing and has hypnotic exercises, 2 cd has 3 self hypnosis scripts which are for different stages of your pregnancy and the last one is another information cd on birth plans, aromatherapy, massage etc. I found it such a beautiful thing to do and without a doubt it helped me remain calm and connected with my birth. The company I ordered it from are Sussex Natural Childbirth. www.naturalchildbirth.co.uk

I'm pleased to see this method is becoming more popular. I don't know anyone else that used it.

bonym · 06/06/2005 16:42

Franch - you could have it for £4.00 + postage ( which would be £2.52 1st class, £2.00 2nd class). CAT me if you're interested.

karentime · 09/06/2012 21:52
