Dying Children

busymum31 · 19/05/2009 22:00

Okay so I was going to have Quintuplets but three of them died. The doctor said one of them got sick and spread it to the rest of them and he told me not to expect any of them to live. My three year olds don't understand that there used o be 5 babies and now there are 2 and it is quit hard.
And i am eight moths pregnant and on bed rest not knowing if i am even going to have any children and i am missing school and work for it.

i just need advice on what to do please.

Tifanie

OMG!! I am so sorry you are going through this! Has the doctor said what the plan of action is?

PacificDogwood · 19/05/2009 22:45
Hmm
froggy16 · 20/05/2009 13:40

I feel for you, it must be very hard. When did the three die, was it recently or earlier in the pregnancy? How does the doctor know for sure that is the reason they died?
As you are 8 months which I think is pretty much term for twins, can you not have a cs now? Surely that would be safer than you waiting to see if the other two are goin gto get sick inside you?
I wish I could help you, my thoughts are with you xxx

Eight months pregnant and still wanting to be working despite having been pregnant with five babies and now still pregnant with two who are at risk .

At 8 months pregnant I am sure the doctor would happily give the go ahead for you to have a c-section now.

missmiss · 20/05/2009 13:47
Hmm
Rhubarb · 20/05/2009 13:50

So one of the babies had a virus and passed it onto the others?

How can that work then? They all have their own sacs do they not? How can a virus be passed from one baby to another?

Have the three babies that died been removed? Why aren't you in hospital?

Why do I feel uneasy about your post?

Rhubarb · 20/05/2009 13:51

You've 3yo twins, you were expecting quintuplets and you want to adopt?

Please tell me you're not making all this up!

Egg · 20/05/2009 13:52

I think you would have been on mandatory bed rest for some time...

Nemoandthefishes · 20/05/2009 13:52

as someone who is 8mths pg sorry but doing the school run is a complete PITA at the min nevermind if I was out working especially with other children to look after and I am only having one baby.
If this is a geniune post then I am sorry for your loss but for some reason it doesnt ring true

crokky · 20/05/2009 13:53

If there is a serious risk to your babies as late on as 8 months, you should have a c-section today - I would go straight to the delivery suite if I was in your position.

Personally, I would not tell a 3yo that there were 5 babies - I would just tell them there are 2.

Lulumama · 20/05/2009 13:53

i presume you are in hospital, being monitored and your doctors are advising you

there is no way a woman as high risk as you would be at home, waiting to see when labour started

the only advice is to listen to your doctors

although i also feel uneasy about your post

TitsalinaBumsquash · 20/05/2009 13:55

There are som many things that smack me as being wrong with your post, but if it is true then i would have as erious chat with your DR and get thoses 2 last babies born by c-section before its to late.

Lulumama · 20/05/2009 14:02

i tikn the OP is in the states,in which case i would be doubly fabbergasted she was not in hospital ,with a c.s date booked in for ASAP

Picante · 20/05/2009 14:05

Can I add another ?

FlappytheBat · 20/05/2009 14:16

There are so many things not quite right with this.

The thread title for a start - isn't really what you would choose to have if you were in this situation.

No mention of any scans, close monitoring to assess foetal well being or hospital admission for what must be a high risk pregnancy.

Concerned about not working and going to school at 8 months pregnant, what do you think is going to happen once the babies have arrived???

Also, OP never came back onto thread either.

I apologise if this is genuine but after all the idiots that were around last night & early hours of this morning, I have to say I'm a bit too.

JustcallmeDog, the OP has had replies, but so far has not responded to either the replies or our concerns.

I think we've all been incredibly polite, no-one's presuming anything, we're just verifying. I've also reported it to MNHQ so they can check it out too. If I were genuine I would fully understand this and would not take offence.

Lulumama · 20/05/2009 14:54

the only possible and IMO correct advice is for her to speak to her OBS or other doc/ care giver immediately.

at 8 months into a high risk pregnancy, a care plan should have been done by now and i would have thought that she would be in hospital on bed rest anyway. there would surely have been lots of appointments for monitoring, scans, dopplers etc... and there is no way IMO a 'wait and see' approach to labour would have been advised.

Maybe this is the 16 year old on the TTC thread this morning, having read the profile it all seems a bit

Sorry if you are genuine but none of this rings true, from the first few lines it seems a bit 'unbelievable!'

Rhubarb · 20/05/2009 15:00

She's even spelt her name wrong.

MerlinsBeard · 20/05/2009 15:08

i reported this as soon as it appeared last night. It's not going to be deleted.
