Anyone know anything about unassisted birth?

I have been having a good think about all my options, which has partly stemmed from another thread, and think i should look into freebirth.

I have tried googling it but everything is very wishy washy and talks about magical birth orgasms and god helping you and doesn't really go into practicalities.

For eg last time I went to 42 wk + 2 before induction and emergency CS which was all fine but not sure whether previous CS precludes unassisted birth.

Also I am supposed to have anti-D jabs, presumably I just don't have them, does anyone know what the actual risk of jaundice is eg 1 in 1000 or whatever?

Just trying to weigh up my options here so would be grateful for sensible answers - must admit that I have always thought that people who did this are loonies but I am beginning to see why it is attractive.

TIA.

Oh am 21 weeks BTW all going well so far.

it really sounds like you have anxiety/agorophobia issues that are at the root of this, and dealing with those will be so beneficial, not just for the rest of your pregnancy and birth but for the rest of your life

Oh, tumtetum

I struggled to leave the house after my first baby. Pregnancy and the postnatal period really make me want to 'cocoon' - to avoid socialising and going out. I suppose it's a bit like agorophobia. Perhaps you'll feel better after the pregnancy hormones have settled down but it's a long time to wait so visiting a gp sounds like a good idea.

I think I am definitely going to have to go to the GP, I had a really bad walk home from work today, ending up with me sobbing by the side of the road and DH having to load DD into the pushchair at her bedtime and come and walk me home.

It has really got out of hand, I just think it's really dangerous outside and I don't want to leave the house. I have decided to take my mat leave as early as legally possible which will help I hope, and see the doc.

I have never had anything like this before and I'm really scared about it - what if I'm like this forever I don't want to be housebound but I don't know what to do

Oh brilliant now I've just outed my new "cheerful" name I was trying to perk myself up with

Jazzhands I don't have any experience of this but I think you've made a massive and very brave step by resolving to see a doctor about this. Good luck - and love the new name

Thanks youngvisitor. I have the nurse practitioner from my surgery calling later so hopefully she will be able to help/tell me what I need to do to get help/tell me whether this is related to my pregnancy or whether i have just generally lost the plot.

Thanks again all
