Think my waters may be going - when do I wake DH?

Am 40 + 1 and have been having a few cramps on and off for a few days, nothing regular. Just had a small gush of pinkish fluid - any ideas? Complicating factors: I'm GBS+ and so need IV antibiotics asap when I go into labour properly; it's NYE and we don;t have a car so would struggle to find a taxi to get to the hospital; and we would need to wake up our CM to look after DS. No proper contractions yet as far as I can tell, so could it be a minor leak?

Have put on a pad, so could go back to bed and see...

Wake him now, you shouldn't have to go through this alone.

I hope it goes the way you want it to.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 01/01/2009 00:42

Phone the hospital and see what they say.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 01/01/2009 00:42

And good luck

VaginaShmergina · 01/01/2009 00:42

Yep, I agree wake him up !!!!

How exciting, happy new year !!

spookycharlotte121 · 01/01/2009 00:43

I would wake him and let him know then ride it out for a bit and see how things go, if the worst comes to the worst you will have to call an ambulance.

You maybe able to go a few hours without needing to go to the hosp.

goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 01/01/2009 00:43

yes wake him up - and good luck - the first MN baby of 2009???

TheInvisibleManDidIt · 01/01/2009 00:44

Yay! Go wake him!!!

Good luck and Congratulations!!!!

pantomimEDAMe · 01/01/2009 00:54

Good luck effie!

EffiePerine · 01/01/2009 00:54

It was only a small leak - do I have to wake him up? I was under strict instructions not to go into labour on NYE

no contractions yet - could it just be the hindwaters going?

Good luck and congratulations in advance!

MKG · 01/01/2009 00:56

Call the hospital now and tell them what happened, and they can advise you to wait or not.

Wake him up!!

Happy new year to you!!

DaisyMooSteiner · 01/01/2009 00:58

It could just be a watery show. I would phone the hospital and ask for their advice before waking him.

Piffle · 01/01/2009 01:00

Being GBS def ring unit and ask. If you get any hint of a decent contraction Wake him! Good luck effie!

SuperBunny · 01/01/2009 01:03

Did you call the hospital yet?

What a nice start to the new year

EffiePerine · 01/01/2009 01:03

rang delivery suite - they think it was a show and to wait for regular contractions, but to see if I leak any more and ring them back.

I'm just hoping this is a proper start - was starting to worry I'd have to be induced
