Show and backache?

How big is a show normally? This is DC2 but last time I didn't see the show as it dropped down the toilet and when I looked down it had gone too far for me to see, I only felt it IYSWIM. I've just had a big lump of snot (about the size of a 2p but fatter), is this it?

I've also had quite a lot of backache in the last hour. The baby is back to back which it wasn't first time round.

Could this be the start?

I'm going to be really embarresed if it doesn't kick off properly though.

Hopefully the walk will do me good. Although MIL really wasn't happy when DP told her that under no circumstances were they to turn up here and that I wanted to walk round.

might be worth looking into starlight. I love it, has to be the best job in the world imo.

Yeah, she's breathing her way through eastenders or something, or luxuriating in the bath she's not supposed to be having,

hope you're doing ok purple, we're here if you need distraction. x

that's sad star. Take it you didn't have a doula?

Yeah there seems to be plenty of work to go around. Sadly there are so many stories like your first, hence the need for us.

will you be having any more do you think? Actually you've only just had a little un haven't you?

We are ttc #6

well the trainee obviously did a good job in supporting you in finding out as much as you could and helping you become more confident about what your choices were and what you wanted.

Doulaing is about being, not doing. If you felt supported, then she'll have been pleased with that.

I'm pleased you had a positive experience especially if you wil prob not have any more.

purpleflower · 29/09/2008 20:56

Sorry DP got home and we took DS to his parents and had a cuppa.

Still not sure, my back still aches and I am crampy. We are going to go to Tesco to get a couple of bits and just take it easy and see how it goes.

glad you have dp with you now. Do your tesco, then have a nice bath and couple paracetamol, (i know paracetamol, labour, )

will help you relax and get couple hours sleep. If this is it, you will know soon enough.

As you can see, we have been keeping your thread going in your absence.

take care, rest.x

How are you purpleflower?

purpleflower · 30/09/2008 10:13

I'm still here

I'm still feeling like I was last night, it just never seemed to kick off.

DP went to work and DS is still at PIL, going to find out when to get him in a minute.

At least I got a lie in

OP posts:
belgo · 30/09/2008 11:29

can you do something to try and take your mind off of the waiting purpleflower? Go out for a walk, swimming, arrange to meet a friend for lunch for example?

purpleflower · 30/09/2008 11:39

The couple of friends I do have are at work or uni.

DS is still at PIL, they have made plans with him all day and apparently he is being an absolute angel for them. Makes me kind of because I know I haven't been making the most of him the last couple of weeks. I'm missing him loads.

I'm going to go have a long bath to kill some time.

belgo · 30/09/2008 11:45

I've just bought myself a good book to take my mind off the waiting, as it's particularly hard at night time not knowing if 'this is it' or not.

Of course you ds is having a good time with his grandparents - it's the novelty of it! But I'm sure he misses you too and will be glad to be home.

purpleflower · 30/09/2008 11:51

Thats a good idea, I might walk to the charity shop up the road and see what books they have.

Thank you

Any news?

purpleflower · 01/10/2008 11:45

Still nothing, just a bit more show last night and a few niggles. I think it's holding on until it's brothers birthday tomorrow

OP posts:
ajm200 · 01/10/2008 12:59

Oh, I hope it does kick off for you soon. The wait is so frustrating when you are getting niggles isn't it.

I had 36 hours of BHs at the weekend that increased in intensity and frequency until they were 5 mins apart.. then stopped. Very little since.. I was in tears the next day with frustration and tiredness..

purpleflower · 01/10/2008 13:57

It's horrible waiting. DS was aweek late so I don't know why I expected anything else. I just keep thinking that this time 2 years ago I was in labour with him lol.

SIL is due today so I wonder who will be first.

How far are you now? Do you have the nursery sorted yet

OP posts:
ajm200 · 01/10/2008 16:09

We have everything sorted at last except a buggy but that should arrive on Friday with a bit of luck. Birthing pool arrives Tuesday and hopefully I can have a home birth from Wednesday @ 38 weeks... it's all very close I had DS at 37 weeks so just hoping to hold onto this one until then and keep PE at bay

Do you have everything sorted yet or are you still working on it..
