Were they accurate. Did anyone have any unexpected surprises?

Yep told each time they were a boy and they were infact boys. When I had the scan for my second, we all burst out laughing at the screen, no doubt it was a boy 😂

The scans are really clear nowadays. At my 20wk scan with dd I saw the "coffee bean shape" myself and said so before the sonographer. With ds I had a bazillion scans because of various issues and I think one was at 15wk or so and the penis was visible already. (I had to have it pointed out because 15w is quite early to see). Correct both times.

When my mum had me (a while ago and not in the uk), I don't think she had a scan, and they told her I'd be a boy because of how much I kicked (!) Then they said well she'll be a sporty girl, maybe a kick boxer! Nope

With my son we found out at 20 weeks - was correct.

This time we've been told girl at 15 weeks. Time will tell!

Right with all four of mine

Yes accurate both times, one girl and one boy. It’s more likely for them to get a girl wrong and it be a boy then the other way round.

My sister was told boy for my Niece😬

laesosalt · 19/02/2026 21:28

Yes, correct for all 3

BasilParsley · 19/02/2026 21:36

Back in the 1980s when sex scans were not a thing, I was at a social event when I was about 7months pregnant and was told by a Romany lady that I was carrying a girl. She was 100% right!

Boymama87 · 20/02/2026 02:52

Yes three times accurate, 2 boys 1 girl all in the last 5 years.

Shopaholic100 · 25/02/2026 19:19

Seems like most in recent times are accurate😄

Yes, we did a private NIPT blood test at 10 weeks and that is pretty accurate. It was correct.

Willyoushutthefrontdoor · 25/02/2026 19:26

Didn't find out for first so a surprise. Found out a girl for 2nd which it was. 3rd we actually needed to know. A boy meant we would move house (10y between 1 and 3)...a girl.meant 2 youngest could share the larger bedroom (4y difference). 'It' was lying the wrong way. I said im sorry I cant leave till you tell me 🤣🤣 so she had a wiggle around for about 30 seconds and then said Bingo!... Its a girl. And she was! So we stayed put

To update this - I've had my 20 week scan today and they are confident it is still a girl! 😄

Both mine accurate. There was a lady on my street who was told boy and it was a girl.

ladygindiva · 25/02/2026 21:20
