DD1 ~ 4 hrs

DD2 ~ 2 hrs

DD3 ~ 1 hr

DC4 : I'm starting to worry just a mite. A pattern of half the time of the previous labour appears to be forming. I am going to cease sneezing/coughing/even hiccoughing from about 30 weeks, just to be sure!

Any tips to share on coping with speedy births, anyone?

Anyone's labours follow a similar pattern?

ds - 3 1/2hrs

hope this one is as quick, but not too quick as it will take DH 1 hr to get home from work and am 1 hr from hospital and my community MW are very reluctant for me to have a HB because they are so short staffed

Are we talking established labour?

I've never really known what my established labour times have been but made a point of asking with DD3 and it was 1 hour and 10 minutes.

Think the others felt very much the same as that.

The pushing bit was really, really quick with DD3- 2 contractions worth of pushing and she was out.

I know that DD1 I had my first very mild contraction at 9.50pm and she was born at 3.57am so 6 hours all in. Established - well when I got to the hospital it was 2am and I was fully dilated and she was born less than 2 hours later.

DD2 - Woke up at 2am having stomach pains, went to the loo, waters broke and 4 hours later I was holding my 2nd child. Estblished paret - ??? I'd guess at about an hour and a half.

Only have the one, but she came in about three hours. Two hours of that was arguing with MW on phone to send someone. And DP was an hour away...

And I never actively pushed, she pushed her own way out. Still don't know how that happened

I don't know how dilated I was at any point I'm afraid as the MW turned up with twenty minutes to spare and spent fifteen of that setting up the equipment.

Number two will just pop out in the street!

Dd- 4.5 hours-weight 8lb 11oz
Ds- In active labour for just over a hour-weight 10lb 8oz!

Needless to say I shan't be having another, it would probably weigh 3 stone and be born on my kitchen floor!

Tidgypuds · 30/05/2008 21:34

DS - 17 hours from 1st strong contraction 8lb 6 oz (induced)

DD - 1 hour 45 mins! from first contraction 8lbs

I'm really hoping I'm so lucky!!

suedonim · 01/06/2008 20:07

Ds1 20+hrs

Ds2 4hrs

Dd1 9hrs (And they told me I'd give birth in the car park!!!)

Dd2 10hrs.
-----
But my sil

Dd1 1.5hrs (sil was in hospital with high BP. For 45mins they told her she wasn't in labour, then when she asked for pain relief, told her she should have asked for it earlier!)

Dd2 45mins. My bro missed both births. Much to my chagrin, they didn't have a third. I wonder why??
