what do your scars look like? Mine is still a bit lumpy and raised, a bit like there's a thin tube under the skin the length of the scar. It's also pretty red (not infected or anything, had cs 8 months ago, was planned cs for breech pres). Is this normal? What does your scar look like? How long til it fades a bit more?

Swampster - I hope one day I feel like that about my scar, its only been 7 months, maybe one day I'll able to think positively about it.

Oh oh, i've just looked at the piccies link, i've gone a bit light headed.......

I didn't realise how horrible my scar was, in comparison to others.

Flumpybumpy · 25/05/2008 11:43

Have just looked at the piccies and I am pleased to see that my scar seems fairly normal then. Although I actually can't see my scar unless I lift up my 'pouch'.

The only thing that was turning my stomach was looking at other womens lady gardens, that did make me feel sick .

book in for a brazilian before my next section in November

swampster I feel exactly the same about mine - it's a lovely smile & a reminder of my fabulous children, helps that my most recent birth experience (ds' elective section) was glorious.

gosh, looking at those photos I've got away rather well. Mind you some of them are brilliant, lucky folks! I guess it's luck of the draw how you heal isn't it? Mine isn't too bad at all and I didn't get any stretch marks, so with a tiny overhang I've been rather lucky. It's still a bit numb, but I've had four ops through the same scar on my knee and that's horrible and the skin on the whole of one side of my lower leg is numb so it could be much worse. And everyone is much more likely to see that scar!

Mine has faded (nearly 3 years on) to a pale silvery colour and you can hardly see it.

At the time it looked horrible and I thought it would never heal properly.

I also had an elective section due to foetal positioning so that probably helped that there was no need to rush.

Mine is exactly like yours headfairy 2 years on. It is very low down though so doesn't prevent bikini wearing.. I have plenty of other factors dissuading me from that!

Does get quite itchy as well.
