my lady is 41 wks, in labour as we speak and not making fab progress as far as she thinks.
called 6am this morn, saying had been niggling all night, went from 20 mins to 10 mins, now at 7 mins, Brill, me thinks, text book.
Kept in contact throughout day, her calling me, she's had bath, paracetamol, doing lots moving, . Bath stalled it a bit, went down to 10 mins, 12 mins,
She is now using her tens, it was on 4 this morning, is now on no. 6. Says cx are painful, and can't talk through them. Took tens off for a while to see if it made a difference, lasted one cx!! Yes it is making a difference, she says.
Her husband is there with her, and her young son will be there from 6pm, as will be the person looking after him.
She is feeling like she needs loo constantly but not weeing much, lots pressure.
Have suggested snuggling up with hubby, holding hands during cx and looking silently (him not neccesarily her) into his eyes during cx, as he is asking lots questions during cx, as to how he can help. Though this would kind of reinforce her need to be silent during them, as she as told me she would like.
We are in phone contact, I am half hour away at most. On our last conversation at 3 she said, I want some gas and air. I said, don't leave it till you are desperate to get further pain relief if you think you need some.
Now what, have said call whenever, obviously. Last labour was a stop start 3 day affair with failed epidural. Sooo doesn't want the same again.
Any advice oh wise ones.
