its a pity the ctx timer isnt interactive, so we could all see when she hits 'start'

Oooh is this the new thread? Duh, I've been wandering around for the last few days wondering where everyone is in cyber space. I've also started a new thread, but obviously no one has needed to find it as you're all on here!!

Good Luck Ellie!!!!!!! Hope it's all quick and easy for you!

I'm still waiting, jsut been for reflexology to try to hurry things up. Not holding my breath though!

DonDonsDoesntHaveABabyYet · 21/04/2008 16:50

Opinions please ladies...

Been having crampy pains all day, on and off, sometimes lasting for 10 minutes, sometimes just 30 seconds or so. Sometimes there is a bit of a pattern (eg every 10 minutes or 20 minutes) then I might go an hour or so with nothing. When I say crampy pains, sometimes my bump is really tight, and other times it isn't.

Had numerous shows over last 3 days - but not bloody - just snotty

Waddya think?

SquonkTheBeerGuru · 21/04/2008 16:52

it sounds to me, dondons, like you are having contractions.

But as they are not regular, steady contractions, you are not in established labour. But things are definitely moving

When you are getting the pains and tightenings regularly, by which I don't mean often, I mean when there is an established pattern to them, you are in labour and it's happening.

Good luck Dondons

starlight has nowt on me- I was still denying being in labour at midnight when DH made me call the MW and called JoFeb my Doula, DS4 was born at 12.35 pmsl! Any later and none of them would have made it. I even gave birth wearing the same clothes I'd ahd on all day. Miracle it occurred to metor emove my undies, frankly...

Why is it so easy to doubt oneself I wonder?

rest lots dondon- the ctx timer is excellent once things get going, I found it invaluable and it gave DH a focus.

Well I have been sat on my arse for most of the day although I dragged my bad dself to Saino's for a chocolate fix and that just about killed me (back ache) (idle-itis) - I think I'm just over-thinking it all and having no concept of what the pain should/shouldn't be like (my ante-natal classes were pretty crap)(my books just say 'you will know'). Hey ho, will go back to being anally retentive and watch some soap operas, gorge on chocolate eat some healthy snacks etc

Still having contractions but they ain't too bad. Just a bit ouchy. About 5 mins apart now and lasting 30-50 secs each. MW said not to bother coming in when can manage at home, and to come in when I can't talk through them and are really painful. Or my waters break, whichever comes first. Knowing my luck will all be a false alarm!
Feels just like really bad period pain, is OK just uncomfy at moment.

EllieG · 21/04/2008 19:06

Shall we have a race dondons?

EllieG · 21/04/2008 19:07

I love love the contraction timer. Is great and makes me feel super-efficient

FoghornLeghorn · 21/04/2008 19:13

MerlinsBeard · 21/04/2008 19:23

Dondons Ellie...its a race....

DILATE!!!!

PeachyHas4BoysAndLovesIt · 21/04/2008 19:43

I couldn't talk through mne, but I do think that although it was a fast labour, it was by far the most painful as well.

Saying that, part way through placenta delivery MW started faffing (apparently they thought I might haemorrhage, I didn't though, panicky MW)someone asked Dh to find out my rhesus status and blood type from my noytes and I suddenly went all lucid and answered calmly, then back to screeching like a banshee
