Some of these are absolutely amazing. It makes me a little sorry we didn't film ours (not that I'd ever put it online)
This one is lovely

And this is interesting, to see the differences in U.S and U.K methods.

I wish I'd watched some of these before giving birth the first time, I think it really helps to see actual experiences.

I know, there are many U.K ones too.

I just thought the suction automatically and the doctor holding and wiping the baby at first was odd. It hasn't happened to anyone I know who's given birth in the U.K.

this is the one that still amazes me

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 06/03/2008 20:47

I've seen that before. Just incredible.

I was looking at birth videos the other day, and every time a baby popped out I started crying. Most odd...I'm not a blubby person at all.

I also wish I'd seen some videos before my labours.

Oh and the suction thing is odd and horrible-looking. What a grim welcome to the world

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 06/03/2008 20:54

I agree AA, surely suction shouldn't be done automatically, as it seems here?

What happened to you btw (nosy emoticon)

OP posts:
TheDevilWearsPrimark · 06/03/2008 20:54

lol nosy

OP posts:
AdamAnt · 06/03/2008 20:58

snigger at nosy

I've had a sort of blocked ear and a clunky throat when swallowing for about a year or so. There was nowt to see on the nose-cam, so I came away feeling relieved, but silly. (The doctor said it wouldn't hurt...he lied )

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 06/03/2008 21:05

Oh dear! So what do you do now, just hope it gets better?

My mum is well versed in what she calls 'bum cams' and likes to give the gory details.

She says it's worse than childbirth.

I guess at least with a birth you get a reward for the pain.

AdamAnt · 06/03/2008 21:14

Do you know what, I've just realised that I've had cameras/scans in every orifice except my pee hole. And I've had a catheter during labour, so I guess I don't even had pee-hole virginity.

I feel so....penetrated.

And yes, I just have to see if it gets better. TBH the ear/throat thing wasn't hurting, just v disconcerting. Much easier to ignore it now I know it all looks in fine fettle

lucysnowe · 07/03/2008 16:26

I was going to start a thread like this!

The women who posted the French b&w super aces labour posted a super aces twins birth as well (one breech):

And more floaty twins:

This is the bloodyish episiotomy one that Dawn Porter was looking at in her prog. It doesn't actually look too horrible but the baby IS massive!

Wallace · 07/03/2008 16:48

I must look at these later

AdamAnt · 07/03/2008 17:19

Have you read the comments in these birth videos? I know youtube is probably the preserve of spotty bedroom-dwelling teenagers, but many of them are shockingly ignorant and tasteless.

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 07/03/2008 17:50

turtle i find that one slightly disturbing

was she high on something or just 'emotion'?

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 07/03/2008 17:58

I never read the comments on youtube, after realising the people who bother to comment are mainly offensive.
There are some nasty racist comments on there. I wonder why they don't get removed.

OP posts:
TheDevilWearsPrimark · 07/03/2008 18:06

Oh gosh the episiotomy one is awful. Unless there was a time lapse it looks like they didn't give a chance .

Wow, how lovely is that one turtle posted!

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 07/03/2008 18:11

oh god

just watched that twin breech one!!

after delivery does your fanny just hang there all gaping and horrid ??

AdamAnt · 07/03/2008 18:54

No Paula - it springs back neatly into shape so you can open your post-partum celebratory bottle of beer with it minutes after the birth

lucysnowe · 07/03/2008 19:40

I love the twin breech one, the first baby pretty much claws its own way out!

I think with the eppy one the yanking the m/w does it a bit more traumatic than the cutting...
