Heparin injections after c section

When I had DS I was given 10 days of Heparin injections to self-inject into my stomach after my C section to reduce blood clots. I hated it!!!

Just wondering if this is always the case or whether guidance has changed? If you had a C section did you have the injections?

I got told to do it in my tummy! 😱

Tummy worked for me as numb from c section! Although DH sometimes did it too high so not numb.

DD born in 2019 and I didn't have them. 6 weeks later I was back in with sepsis and when I eventually was discharged I had them then.

I've been given these bloody things and I've just had a homebirth, no section, so annoyed.

It's because I'm 36 and it's my third baby.

DH refusing to give them and I don't want to do it myself. Not sure what I'm going to do. For 10 days.

Oh no bad luck @ILookAtTheFloor why can't DH do it?

I asked my midwife today and she said it depends on risk factors like others have said. It's all smooth sailing so far so crossing my fingers.
