What next? Does this mean things will kick off soon?

Mw seemed fairly confident that the baby would be born today or tomorrow (but this is the same mw who said it was unlikely I'd get to term).

have sex tonight, that should get things going, it least it did with me in exactly the same situation!

Is there anything fun you can do today to take your mind off of it? Try and relax and enjoy yourself?

TodayToday · 13/02/2008 09:56

I was told to wait two hours and then go for a long walk after having a sweep. It worked for me but I was 10 days past my due date by then.

MuffinMclay · 13/02/2008 09:58

Walking is more appealing than sex at the moment.

Id be really surprised if you dont have this baby today

Wheres Lulu and her gang of knitters and bakers!

belgo · 13/02/2008 10:09

I'm here with my knitting

yes, 4 cm is very very good!

Lomond · 13/02/2008 12:28

Good luck! Hopefully you won't have to wait too long

LadySanders · 13/02/2008 12:31

ho, i just started a thread about being 14 days over, on my 3rd sweep.... but am wishing you luck too!

belgo · 13/02/2008 12:42

good luck to you too LadySanders!

NatalieJane · 13/02/2008 12:50

Wow!!!

Are you having any contractions at all?

MuffinMclay · 13/02/2008 13:06

No contractions at all yet. Perhaps the mw was mistaken.

14 days over. You have my sympathy. I would have gone stir crazy.

at this thread
Are you still here?!
Surely you can't be 4cm dilated and not have a baby in the next few hours?

VictorianSqualor · 13/02/2008 13:11

You may be lucky and get to 10cm dilated without feeling anything then three pushes and its out.

StealthPolarBear · 13/02/2008 13:11

are you sure you're not having contractions but just have a very high pain threshold?

MuffinMclay · 13/02/2008 13:23

Just been searching through old threads. Some people stayed at 4cm for days.

VictorianSqualor · 13/02/2008 13:28

I'd be sitting in front of a mirror with a tape measure

funnyhaha · 13/02/2008 13:32

Have you been for a walk? Injested your body weight in pineapple whilst twiddling your nipples?

VictorianSqualor · 13/02/2008 13:36

Drank raspberry leaf tea? Swallowed lots of raspberry leaf tablets? Rolled around on a birthing ball?

Lulumama · 13/02/2008 13:45

foxythesnowman was at 6 cm before she actually got contrations IIRC!

sex, nipple stim, walking , raspberry leaf tea, visualistion, resting, eating , drinking , weeing as you need to.. and play it by ear..

will all kick off soon enough !

LieselVonTrapp · 13/02/2008 14:03

Hold out for a Valenintes baby

VictorianSqualor · 13/02/2008 14:08

Gosh, no, dont hold til valentines day! You'll never want to go out again cos it'll be the LO's birthday and you'll feel guilty!

As parent's we need every excuse we can get for a bit of pampering.

cluelessnchaos · 13/02/2008 14:18

belly dancing, really works.

NatalieJane · 13/02/2008 15:07

Listen to LoulaDoula

Are you planning a home birth?

MuffinMclay · 13/02/2008 15:14

No pineappple, raspberry leaf tea, nipple tweaking, or belly dancing. Haven't even ben for a walk; I'm too scared to leave the house.

I've just been eating and drinking and slobbing on the sofa watching rubbish on tv. I'm getting lots of Braxton Hicks at the moment.

Not keen on a Valentine's baby. Would be a dreadful day for a birthday - no chance of going out for dinner, soppy couples everywhere etc.
