Button up nightdress/shirt for labour - where are they all?

Looking for a couple of fully button up nightdresses/nightshirts for hospital. Last time (4 years ago) I bought a couple of non-maternity ones in a much bigger size than I normally wear and they were really useful but unfortunately I didn’t hang on to them. Looking again now and I can’t seem to find anything.

I’m looking for:
-buttons all the way down

  • cotton (or at least mostly cotton, so I don’t get too sweaty)
  • not super expensive
  • either maternity fit 16 or size 18-20 normal fit
-available to buy online. Can’t get to the shops as I’m on modified bed rest.

Is this too much to ask?! I’d rather not buy from Boohoo because their ethics are so crap (I know others aren’t much better) and the only other thing I can see is a Seraphine ‘birthing gown’ for 40 quid.

Has anyone found anything along these lines recently?

When I had my baby in February I couldn't find any either and they are absolutely vital if breast feeding / co sleeping. I ended up buying a black boohoo one which is flimsy and awful, and the grey boohoo one which was marginally better. But there is a huge gap in the market!

I had exactly this issue when I was getting ready last summer. Found nothing. In the end I bought huge (like, size 22 and I'm a 14) button-halfway-down nightdresses from tesco and that did the trick.

The marks and Spencer’s one mentioned above is still available.

Im on a hunt too and started wondering if strappy cammy ones could be an option for hospital? Everyone always says how hot maternity wards are. Thoughts, ladies?

If it was stretchy material, so you can pull a boob out, then it would work for breastfeeding.
If you aren’t breastfeeding, then yeah, sure. Smile

With had a Matalan one with just a few buttons, enough for feeding.

I got rid of all my maternity nightwear after my first baby and now I'm having a second at the same time of year.
I'm absolutely gutted - I sold them all on eBay and they flew out. Not a surprise when the products currently on offer are shit. I just can't find anything suitable. I had some fantastic short pjs too with button down floaty vest tops. They were all from mothercare which means I can't replace them now it's closed down :(

Sorry this isn't any less speedy than Seraphine but I had 2 for DD and wore them for ages, they were soooo comfy. Preg again now and I literally can't wait to get back into them.

I got mine from matalan it was quite a few years ago. They ended up cutting it off me as baby did a poo all over me. Don’t spend a lot of money on one would be my advice

I was in M&S a couple of weeks ago and was informed that all of their maternity clothes were only available online. I was really annoyed.

SilkFred do some button down maternity nightdresses and matching dressing gowns, but they're all above £40 which might be more than you want to spend.
