Elle TENS machine - which model ?

Hi, I want to buy Elle tens machine but not sure which model. They currently have 3 different ones (regular one, one with contraction timer and one with contraction timer+pelvic floor stimulation after birth).
Do you have any experience using any of them ? Is it worth paying for the most advanced one ?

MNHQ Update
This is an old thread, but if you've landed here while on the hunt for similar recommendations, our guide to the best TENS machine has been recently updated. It includes a wide range of options – including devices you can hire as well as purchase – and has been compiled based on the recommendations of Mumsnetters as well as maternity experts. We hope it's helpful! Flowers

I hired one rather than buying one of my own

Unless you are dead set on buying one, I'd really recommend hiring one. I had a 7-week hire via www.maternitytensmachine.co.uk for £26 last summer, which included extra (practice) pads so DH knew how to get it going when the time came.

It was the regular Elle Tens, it was amazing. Hired it the week before due date, thought I'd use it for the after pains also but didn't bother, think I only had it about 3 weeks in total before posting it back. Would highly recommend for when the contractions ramp up.

Everyone is different of course but I couldn't see myself using one that also had a contraction timer, in the moment you just need to focus on making sure the Tens is being used to its full potential for the type of discomfort you are in/focusing on nice thoughts like meeting your baby soon. Use an old fashioned stop clock, count yourself, or ask your birth parter to count and jot down the contraction times. Good luck!

I recently hired the most expensive model. Thought the contraction timer was really useful. Was £20 to hire the basic one, £25 for the middle and £30 for the premium one so decided to go with the fanciest there was. No idea how it compared to the cheaper one or whether it'd be worth it if buying new, but the £30 hire cost was 100‰ money well spent in my opinion.

Thanks guys !
@Subordinateclause could you tell me what website did you use?

Birthease.co.uk - saw someone on here recommend it. Worth having a practice run first as the instructions were a bit rubbish, but the product itself is incredibly simple to use once you've got the pads on. I only had a tiny bit of gas and air as it was so good (second birth though). Best of luck!

I was going to hire one as the other posters have done, a quick google search brings up a few sites but I ended up buying one second hand on ebay for £25 so worth having a look for second hand sales too

I hired one and so glad I did as it really helped to ease my contractions.

Definitely get one, it was a huge pain relief during the contractions, both at home and during labour along with gas and air. I'm actually still in hospital with baby, gave birth at 1.17 this morning. I feel like I want to share my birth story a bit later, it went well overall, but it just feel like writing it down... I tried to do it earlier but just got too emotional..

Congrats @UnCoffreDor 🎉 Please do share your birth story when you feel ready x
