anyone had two breech babies?

DD was breech.

Had successful ECV at 37wks, only for her to turn breech again 2 days later...

She eventuslly turned head down of her own accord at 38+6, so elective c/s for 39+1 cancelled, but ended up with an em c/s anyway (that's another story...but I think her late turning contributed, as head never engaged)

Am now 36+3 with no.2 & hoping for a VBAC.

However at my appointment yesterday they weren't convinced baby was head down & are sending me for a scan to check. (baby had been head down since 32wks) They want to do el c/s as soon as I hit 39wks if baby is breech.

What are the chances of me having another breech? Surely I can't be that unlucky? Could there be a reason why my babies like breech position?

DH keeps telling me not to worry until we know for sure, but I feel so disappointed at the thought of it, I've put so much "work" into my proposed VBAC already

Had my scan this morning to check on presentation...

I'm pleased to say I was right all along, baby is HEAD DOWN

So all systems go for my VBAC

BetsyBoop that's brill news!

dal21, did the consultant mention the various things that can be done to try and help get lo into optimum position in utero?

For info for anyone - really gentle chiopractic treatment works wonders as what they do is get you structurally sorted - i.e. deal with any wonky bits or restrictions, e.g. getting pelvis aligned etc so there's right space for the baby to get comfy in. Can work well at late stage but also very effective as preventative measure.

Here's some info about the gentle way an experienced pregnancy chiropractic practitioner will help pregnancy, breech etc:

(This page has good info, worth a read, and also has useful tips at the bottom - plus the articles in the 'articles' box are really informative aswell).

If you're head down that's great!
But just to add - have had two breeches. With the second, my chiropractor warned me before I was pg that she thought i'd have another because of the shape of my pelvis
During late weeks of pg, I knew I was having a breech, I could feel the head up high.
But THREE doctors in a row including a senior registrar all assured me that what I thought was the head was the bum and it was head down. Each time I had to demand a scan band guess what - each time I was right and they were wrong.
Was an object of some curiosity at c/s with a load of doctors trooping in to inspect my womb. They said they could see no reason why I'd had two in a row and was just unlucky. But I still reckon chiropractor was right. Anyway, the moral of the story is if you're in any doubt either way DEMAND A SCAN. I'm a little person and my bump was easily feelable and they still all got it wrong (and have another friend who had two undiagnossed breech deliveries in a row after mws assuring her second time it was definitely head down. She's now suing the hospital)
