waiting for emergency section, 35 weeks with twins, handhold ?

Hi all, I'm 35 weeks today with my identical girls. Been in hospital now for 3 days due to severe reduced movements and a drastic dip in their growth. They made the decision today to do a "non emergency" emergency section today at 35 week. No idea what time, so I'm sat here with DP twiddling my thumbs.

Both babies are head down and I'm showing signs of preterm labour and I was looking forward to having a induction/natural birth and I'm incredibly nervous of having a section.

Any words of wisdom or just general well wishes that might stop me from feeling anxious would be greatly appreciated as to be honest I'm crapping myself right now !

@SavagelyGardening still in hospital Sad I feel better, definitely, but my bloods yesterday showed my white blood cell count had gone up again, however my crp inflammation marker has gone down but it is still high, but the fact I'm feeling more normal I'm presuming is a good thing.

No change with my girls, they are doing brilliantly, we've started to feed them with a bottle to establish feeding more easily, I was struggling to get down to NICU for every feed and even then I was only managed to boob one baby, the other one was being tube fed and we weren't really getting anywhere with it. But both are doing well and both are looking bigger everyday !! X

You poor thing, but glad you're feeling better in yourself. Great news on the babies!

Glad you’re doing better. Try to eat well. Maybe you can get outside for a bit of fresh air & sunshine.
It must be great to touch & feed your babies- and even notice their growth.

Been eating strawberries and grapes and gallons of water and peppermint tea, my mum brought me potato hash today and I've never been more grateful, so so sick of hospital food, mostly because I order the same two things in fear of anything else being gross. Don't want to jinx anything but my bloods improved today and finally been stepped down to the oral antibiotic, just have to keep my blood pressure stable for 24 hours without the blood pressure medication and I can go home tomorrow evening.

Also been today today my girlies can come home early next week so everything is looking a bit brighter today ! Thankyou so much for the support xx

Hospital food is pretty awful. It is always worth having some brought in if you can.
Iti s all sounds good. All 3 of you may be home next week.
When I had my twins I was really worried about muddling them up (although they were non identical and one had a massive lots of blonde hair and the other just about no brown hair so no chance of that and one was a pound heavier but even so I kept their hospital bracelets on for quite a while in case I was so tired to ended up swapping them in terms of names by accident). I particularly wanted a photo of each placenta to prove they were non identical. I am not sure why now - it is certainly the most gruesome of the twin birth photos!

I'm home but have to have my blood pressure redone today and if it's high go from there as my blood pressure was the only thing keeping me in, it was perfect all night and day and when they went to do the last reading it went up, simply because I was thinking about it I think, well not thinking panicking would be more accurate. Girls are doing well however NICU made a error with the smaller twins weight, so we have no idea whether she's put weight on or lost it, so I'm cross about that. Apparently the first time she was weighed she put 110g on but now she's lost 140g which would put her below her birth weight, so they think the first weigh in was wrong. Which is brilliant obviously Confused

Try to not to worry too much about the weight error. Despite the lack of record from birth they should have a good idea of how well baby is feeding and there are other signs that would show if there was a weight gain issue.

A midwife recorded DD's weight as 3.2 kilos instead of 3.02 which saw us being readmitted which otherwise might not have happened Confused but it didn't actually matter massively.

That's good news that you've been discharged. Fingers crossed that everything is heading in the right direction now.
