need to write my birth plan.

with dd i ws induced and flat on my back for 4 hours, i couldn't move (think i'd gone into shock a bit) and kept my eyes shut all the way through. this time, i want it to be different, was thinking of giving birth on all fours if possible, what do people think?

both time - standing leaning on bed (which was cranked up high)

didn't like being touched or spoken to

liked G&A a lot and eating ice cubes

you can have someone support you whilst you stand...a supported squat is good too..opens your pelvis up

j20baby - I stood at the side of the bed so could lean over it...i had a chair near/under me that I might kneel on or sit on

birthing ball was nice until contractions got bad

Lulumama - you are typing like cod

Actually it's a shame I couldn't deliver naturally as I didn't find it too painful TBH so I'm probably one of those stoical types who whistles during contractions (I did complete an entire sudoku book during the experience)

lula-i'm not sure if i'll have anyone with me, and even if my friend is there she weighs less than 7 stone and is under 5", i am currently 11.5 stone and 5,5", i think she'll just about manage to hold my hand, but even then i'm scared i'm going to hurt her

i did have my name down for a free doula service in my area, but they haven't been able to match me up with anyone yet.

my mw is meant to be getting in touch to help me write my birth plan, the way i'm talking, anyone would think its my first time! was over 7 years ago though

i did feel a little guilty about asking them as my friend has offered, but they said even if my friend was there, they could still help, will see if they find anyone and if not, will take my laptop with me and you lot can virtually hold my hand

All fours or squatting forward half standing half on all fours.

Keep an open mind though. It's different every time. Good luck.
