Currently experiencing pain on the left side of my stomach that feels very intense when I move or walk.

It feels like a hot burning pain! I'm over 3 weeks PP.

What is happening? I'm scared to move

I'll bet you were ovulating! You'll get a lovely period in two weeks time. Lucky you.

I was admitted to hospital with similar symptoms at a similar time. Suspected appendicitis. It was really very painful but went off as fast as it came. I'd had an ultrasound in the meantime where they said they thought I had just ovulated (could see something to do with follicles that I didn't really understand at the time). I felt a bit of a plonker but it really did hurt.

I can feel it every time now. Never as painful as that one but still uncomfortable. My GP isn't very interested.... I often wonder whether they stuffed everything back in properly after my caesareans (I've had three).

Well done getting GP appointment! (No mean feat in some cases)

Hi OP
Congrats on your baby! I had EXACTLY the same thing after my section, burning skin sensation above my incision, almost between incision and belly button, and it hurt like hell. It would come and go in waves and was worse when moving and it was so debilitating. I had to sit down and just get through it when it came on. I feel for you.
I wrote exactly the same thread on here when I had it!! I saw my Gp who is very good ans has also had a section a few months earlier and she said it is normal and as others have said it is nerve endings knitting back together and scar tissue forming. I also had a small haematoma above my incision.

I’m pleased to say that after a fouple of week’s the pain finally went - I just woke one morning and it had gone and didn’t come back. Hold tight - hopefully yours will dissipate soon. Until then, rest as much as you can whenever it comes on.
Good luck - you aren’t alone in feeling this way

I had pain that sounds very similar, but down my right side not left. I couldn't sit up and walking hurt a lot. Also felt a sort of burning sensation. I rang the hospital who said they didn't think it was serious or an infection and to keep taking paracetamol. If it continued then to go in and see them.
It came and went over a few weeks.
I'm still recovering now 9 weeks on, but things are a lot better and the pain has got less and less.

Wishing you a speedy recovery

I really hate to say this, and I only do because it took me years to get a diagnosis. My third section felt wrong from the get go. I was left with chronic pain by my belly button. It turns out I had adhesions, sticky bits of tissue that clings on inside. I had them removed laparoscopically.

It is doubtful that this is what is going on with you, but, in all consciousness I couldn't read and run, because I was fobbed off for years.

It's hard to get a diagnosis because they do not show up on imaging. And it's not endometriosis, it's an entirely separate issue. Everyone has adhesions after surgery and, most of the time, it doesn't cause any trouble at all. But for some people they do.

Good luck. I hope this pain goes away quickly, I really do.

Thanks Seahorse that's helpful.
Will bear in mind

I had something very similar 3-4 weeks pp and nowhere close to the incision site. It started suddenly after breastfeeding in side-lying position and went on-off the entire night. It felt like the worst gas/period pain ever spread around one side of my tummy...I genuinely thought appendicitis or maybe infection. Luckily the pain went after one day and I didn’t have fever so I decided not to call the dr. I can only guess it had something do with the uterus contracting while breastfeeding and regrowing nerve endings.

incogneto · 25/05/2019 01:15

Update: went to the GP. He said it's basically just nerve endings and scar tissue reconnecting. It fucking hurts though!

Hope it goes away soon Sad
