Hoping for some tens machines recommendations please.

Think I've confused myself as I've noticed many on Amazon actually say not suitable for pregnant women.

I used this one in both my labours and found it really helpful in managing the pain before I got on the gas and air or into the pool.

Birth ease Elle tens, you pay £21 for six weeks. I recently used it and didn’t need to go past level 5 and it goes up to 15. I got to 6cm at home using it, it helped so much

Thirded for the boots one, I used it during early labour and continued with it at the birthing centre too. The batteries lasted well, it definitely helped and was nice and portable. The pads are fairly cheap to replace as well so could use it again or sell it on afterwards.

Good to know Lelly, I've got mine from birth ease now ready to go. Never used one before. Is it obvious when you need to go up a level?

I got the babycare elle tens machine off amazon.
It's amazing, I couldn't have it on full strength as it was more painful than my actual contractions.
I used it ahain after birth for awful back pains and plan to use it again for my next birth.
Good luck.

I used the babycare Elle tens, hired it from mothercare.

Lelly0503 · 28/04/2019 23:43

Hi @nanny, it has two modes, one which is for during a contraction and the other for in between. It comes with four pads that can all go off at the same time or just two together. It goes up to an intensity level of 15, however I found anything past level 5 it then became more painful than the actual contraction. I was hesitant to go to hospital because i thought I’d only be 2cm or something & be sent home, so when I arrived at 6cm I nearly fell off the bed! That was 100% down to the tens machine and how it distracted me from the pain without being painful itself. I only removed it in the end because I wanted to get in the water.
