Not that I'm in labour yet but due a week on Saturday so not very long to go ...

A little background info to help you decide:

dd1 - 16 hours from start to finish - had an epidural which they reckon slowed it down.

dd2 - 8 hours and ditto the epidural

ds - 4 hours (waterbirth, no intervention)

Soooo ... m/wives seem sure it could all be over in 2 hours, I'm not so convinced myself!

Here Miaou - you forgot my 3 hours in your list

Glad the hospital has places for you to be - some won't let you stay if not past 3cm

MarsLady · 15/07/2007 14:20

And you missed my second guess!!!!!!!! ROFL

bramblina · 15/07/2007 20:46

I'm going for boy, 8lb2oz.
What is your due date? May as well guess the birthdate too! In for a penny, in for a pound! And for that we need to know your previous dcs due dates and actual dates...!

Tutter · 15/07/2007 20:47

3hrs 3mins
8lbs 3oz

suzi2 · 15/07/2007 20:53

Are we talking actual labour? Or the days of faffing you had before lol? (do you know I remember reading all that thinking "poor woman" not realising that the following week I'd be doing the same lol) I just want to be sure that we're all playing the same game... how do you time a labour anyway?

Hmmm, there are no full moons around so you'll not go with a waters pop. I think you'll get a few days of false labour. The from first 'real' contraction (which you won't know is real until after) it'll actually be around 7 hours. I'll go for a quick second stage though - 4 mins.

It's a due date baby (my birthday ), a girl, 7lb 4oz and in my honour you'll name her Susan

Miaou · 15/07/2007 22:24

oops, sorry mears! Have put that right now!

Marslady - you only get one guess, you know - so you will have to choose which one you want to go with! No hedging allowed

Suzi2 - lol - I think I'm a bit more in touch with my body this time round - not got a six-year gap to contend with for a start!! We'll go with what officially goes in my notes as length of labour to avoid any arguments

JAM - twoplusone has already picked 3 hrs 27 mins so I've put you down for 3 hrs 26 - no tangible prize (unless someone else wants to offer one !), just the right to crow about the fact that you won

Bramblina - due date is 21 July. Here is what happened previously (this'll make you laugh):
dd1 - 5 days early
dd2 - 10 days late
ds - went into labour on due date, he was born 2 hours into the next day

So ... anybody's guess, really . All spontaneous labours, none induced.

Okeydokey then! LOL LOL. Right then I'm going to say 23rd July.

And my next thought.....who is going to check all the entries against the facts once the baby is born? Methinks you'll be somewhat pre-occupied! The list is getting mighty impressive!

MarsLady · 15/07/2007 23:33

Can I add 7lbs 8oz please?

(If you're still going after 1hr 37mins it'll be 21hrs........... )

lucykate · 15/07/2007 23:45

good grief, doesn't seem like 5mins ago you announced you were pg. right, my guess is .....erm......4hrs again.

as long as you and baby are fit and well when its all over, thats the main thing.

my sil had her baby this evening , am an aunty again for the 10th time

lucykate · 15/07/2007 23:46

bramblina · 18/07/2007 16:10

Woohoo!

CarGirl · 18/07/2007 16:11

1hr 45mins or ridiculously quick like mine - 3 mins! I had been in pain for a lot longer but by the time they checked it was only 2 more contractions until she was out

lucykate · 18/07/2007 16:11

yay!

so what's on tonights menu, hot curry, raspberry leaf tea??

Miaou · 20/07/2007 12:22

Still here

Things are hotting up but looks like being a repeat of ds's birth - "proper" contractions last night but all tailed off! This time I'm a bit more clued up though and not going to dash off to the hospital until I'm absolutely sure!!

OP posts:
lucykate · 20/07/2007 21:31

i think that you are more likely to have false alarms with subsequent births than your first because you are on tenterhooks more. i know i did with ds, was in a week before with regular contractions, that just stopped!

wishing you good luck and a 4 hour 10 minute labour i think that's what i guessed

CarGirl · 20/07/2007 21:33

How are you counting your labour - ie from when they check you and say you are more than 4 cm dilated or from when the contractions start (and don't tail off)???? Just in case I'm in the running.......

lucykate · 20/07/2007 21:36

iirc mine were both from about 3cm dilated, that's when they classed it as established.

i suppose it depends on the hospital/midwife

VeniVidiVickiQV · 20/07/2007 21:38

What do I get if I win?

Ceolas · 20/07/2007 21:39

Probably a virtual punch, VVV
