Been having what I thought was a show for a couple of days, and today it was pink and definitely a show. Woke up feeling a bit weird, chilly and shaky, and crampy and nauseous.

Think I've been having contractions but not rally been timing them as wasn't sure, but going to start now. Am 40+2, have an appointment with MW at 2.30 but wondering if I will make it!

NikkiBFG · 20/06/2007 12:11

Can remember ranting at the midwives that I wanted an epidural and I wanted it NOW BECAUSE I PAY MY FECKING TAX FOR SERVICES LIKE THIS

Was not quite myself you understand.....

lulumama · 20/06/2007 12:11

I do not snore !! dribble maybe, but no snoring!!

yes, the hot curry thing can come back to haunt you in labour !!

get it all out now!

flightattendant · 20/06/2007 12:15

He he Mumof4aceboys, my mum was at sainsburys when I started too why is that???

Bumper, how are you doing sweetness? Are they manageable still? The toilet thing is horrid isn't it, I count my lucky stars I hadn't had breakfast because it all would have come right back up...like Klaw says, best to get it all out before it comes out anyway!!!

Wishing you every bit of luck and a great labour xxxx

flightattendant · 20/06/2007 12:25

Posting on MN kept me distracted and very calm for the first hour.

Soon as I got off computer chair I started to be scared!!!

bumperlicious · 20/06/2007 12:27

I would feel better about this if the contractions didn't make me need the loo and want to throw up at the same time - then the tens wires all get in the way...it's all very frustrating!

But the good news is my friend gave me a pedicure last night so I have hot pink toes to cheer me up!

Right, might put sex and the city on to distract myself.

Bless DH though, he just went through my hospital back and repacked it, now packing himself a bag.

Thanks for all the support by the way everyone!

Any recommendation to ease the nausea?

OP posts:
lulumama · 20/06/2007 12:30

nibble some crackers, sip water
no heavy food

don;t hold your breath through the contractions

remind DH to take himslef packed lunch and snacks, as he is not going to leave yor side to go to the canteen without getting a slap !

daisyboo · 20/06/2007 12:33

bumper.....have you timed them yet?

I'm so excited for you!

mrsmalumbas · 20/06/2007 12:33

Sniff some peppermint oil on a wet flannel or sip some peppermint tea. Failing that suck on a polo.

allgonebellyup · 20/06/2007 12:33

drinking coke is good for nausea, my doc recommended it, all the sugar and fizz helps but dont know why!

Was 9cm dilated when i got to hosp with my first baby, kept thinking its a false alarm even though was rolling on floor screaming in pain! she came in the next 20 mins! beware!

hollyandalice · 20/06/2007 12:33

Get him to make you some something too bumper!! Hospital food is a bit minging and is only served at certain times. You will need some proper food after bubs is born, don't just pack crisps and snacks! Oh and some fruit whilst in labour, full of sweetness and juice, just what you need!

Hope you are coping ok!

allgonebellyup · 20/06/2007 12:35

thats coca-cola, not cocaine, you understand..
although this may help you through the pain

Darciesmum · 20/06/2007 12:36

Dry Crackers is great for nausea

GreebosWhiskers · 20/06/2007 12:39

lulumama · 20/06/2007 12:58

don;t worry about the timing

you'll know when you need to go

factor in how long it will take to get to hospital etc

also, it is the length they last .. a good 40 seconds plus

daisyboo · 20/06/2007 13:04

how's it going?
