First time mum - was birth early or late?

I'm expecting my first in April and very excited. My parents, who live far away, have arranged their visit for just over 2 weeks after my due date. I was hoping to have some time with just my husband and the baby before their visit, but have now realised some women can be as late as 2 weeks past their due date. Wah.

Were you on time with your first? How early or late?

CaptainChristmas · 23/12/2017 21:10

13 days late!

chandlersfraud · 23/12/2017 21:28

7 days early

TantrumsNSprouts · 26/12/2017 15:27

Very late.

Brought in for induction 14 days late (they wanted me in at 10 days late, but I resisted for a bit as was sure he was going to come as I'd had on and off contractions and a show).

Pessary induction over 4 days failed and he was finally born by c-section at 18 days over due.

Was a bit of a shock when DC2 (DD) then came at 37 weeks! I thought I had loads of time left...Grin shock].

DramaAlpaca · 26/12/2017 15:29

DC1 arrived 5 days before due date.

AdidasGirl · 26/12/2017 15:31

5 days late.
Came after having a sweep.

PasstheStarmix · 26/12/2017 15:32

My baby refused to come out on his own so I had to be induced and earliest they could induce was 2 weeks after so I was 2 weeks late/overdue. If I hadn't have been induced god knows what would have happened.

PasstheStarmix · 26/12/2017 15:33

I'd delay the visit until 1 month after your due date as that way it allows for worse case scenario and ensures you'll get time together before their arrival.

PasstheStarmix · 26/12/2017 15:33

First babies do tend to come late...

FartnissEverbeans · 28/12/2017 20:49

DS was three weeks early.

I live in the Middle East and ate a lot of fucking dates when I was pregnant! I read a study that suggested a link with an easier labour. Sukari dates are one of my favourite things ever so I took that as an excuse to eat boxes of the buggers.

It did not make labour easier btw Confused

Salvadore · 28/12/2017 20:58

12 days late with first and 10 days late with 2nd (and lived in the Middle East so had dates coming out of my ears!)
DM was helpful, filled my deep freeze with meals, I had a cleaner come in 3x a week as I had difficult births with long recovery.

TriJo · 30/12/2017 01:03

8 days late with DS1. DS2 due in February...

ProseccoMamam · 30/12/2017 01:19

5 days early but I'm still 10000% they calculated wrong so that would have made him around a week late. He was HUGE, no way he was fucking early!

Baubletrouble43 · 30/12/2017 01:23

Four days late. I think two weeks late is not all that common, ime.

someblondegirl · 31/12/2017 01:04

1 day early for me

Lightning88 · 02/01/2018 22:06

Eleven days late with my little one. You could always ask for a sweep on your due date if you're still waiting for little one to appear :)

Yogagirl123 · 02/01/2018 22:13

DS 1 one day early

DS2 10 days early

Many congrats OP! Flowers

sinceyouask · 02/01/2018 22:15

15 days past the edd.

xXKXx · 02/01/2018 22:35

Doilooklikeatourist · 02/01/2018 22:43

3 days early
And yes , my Mum was a huge help , made meals , helped with washing , helped no end as I was clueless and scared of the baby ( DH was shell shocked )
I was 33 , and not a dimwit 😀

Isitwinteryet · 03/01/2018 01:08
