Hi Jade, yes I did with DS years ago. Mainly backache. Try hot water bottle on back. Waters may not break at all, so no reliable indicator. Mine were broken by MW in hospital.

Got anyone near you?

cjs76 · 17/02/2007 06:44

HI does sound like the start of it but it is likely you still have a long to go yet has the bath help? I stayed in it for a fews hours kep added extra hot water! when is/was your due date?
waters may not even go mind has to be broken by the midwife - you may get a show and this is when they may speed up a bit! If you have a birthing/ exercise ball sit on it if not try to keep mobile to get the baby to come down and stay there!! hope this helps !! Ive had 2 both very different births x

jade1979 · 17/02/2007 06:48

hi cjs bath helped take pain down for a while but when i got out it started again within 10 mins have taken more paracetamol, i am 37wks but thats gud for me i already been in labour at 31+4.

If you can try to be mobile it will help if its all getting too much ring the hospital and tell them and insisted they see you!! sounds like you are a bit of a secial case anyway! good luck!!! reamember it will all be worth it, I have 2 beautiful ds's x

jade1979 · 17/02/2007 07:03

DH with me Bienchen, he more worried/scared than me hehe, i am trying to keep as mobile/walking as much as poss it seems to make them stronger don't know if this actually possable or weather my imagination, but having stab like pain now low down about 2 inch up from pubic bone.

Bienchen · 17/02/2007 07:10

Jade, totally agree with cjs76' last post. Possibly hospital could send round a midwife to check whether you are dilating?

If you are not sick, have a bit of toast and tea or similar to keep your strength up. Painwise, keep upright/mobile and change positions.

37wks is a bit early to go into labour but no big deal. I'm 39 wks today and no sign of anything labourwise. Good luck xx

jade1979 · 17/02/2007 07:16

Bienchen i can understand 37 being early but i was only 31+4 and went into labour and had to be stopped then by drip and have 2 steroid jections so i think this is well done 2 DS for staying in this long.

oooh how exciting! This is just like what happened to me! Agree with the others, definitely have something to eat if you can to keep your strength up. Keep walking around. Do you have a birth ball? If so, I found it helpful to sit and have a bounce on that. And if you have TENS, put it on as it should give you some relief too. Good luck!

cjs76 · 17/02/2007 07:21

37 weeks is gr8 given the history of your pregnancy - good luck let us know how it goes x

Marscentio · 17/02/2007 08:24

how are you feeling now?

lulumama · 17/02/2007 09:00

hi jade ...

with what has been going on the last couple of weeks, you could be on the way ! how you doing!

WestCountryLass · 17/02/2007 10:28

Sounds just like my first labour

Have to say if the pains continue and this is 2nd time round would probably be thinking of going in if having hospital birth

jade1979 · 17/02/2007 11:17

Hi all, just got back from hosp to be told i have engaged from CEPH FREE to 3/5 in 2 days which is good and pretty quick but am only still 1cm dialated, doc asked if i wanted to go onto ward or go home so i chose to come home, still got really bad pain but am gunna hang on here now, we gunna try and buy some new nets for front window so hopefully walking will take him the last -2. FEEL PRETTY KNACKED and GUTTED.

OP posts:
WestCountryLass · 17/02/2007 11:43

Awwww, hang on in there, not long now

I had first DC at 34 weeks and next at 39 weeks and you sort of feel overdue for a long time as you half expect things to happen earlier.

lulumama · 17/02/2007 12:12

rest , jade...labour is getting going, it might be a few days before it gets started properly, so try not to exhaust yourself

don;t be gutted! all the pains you have had are helping..your baby is now partially engaged and you are starting to dilate! that is good ! that is really positive! so try to relax, take it easy, eat and drink, listen to your body and just hang on in there !

jade1979 · 17/02/2007 15:23

have just been to dunelm for mi new nets, now nobody can peek at mi boobies when feedin if litte one arrives, have been getting contractions still and quite difficult to walk through but doin ok, am gunna have lay down now as i didnt' sleep at all last night just wound mi-self up. .
