When to go to hosp? WWYD?

I'm 41 weeks and it's my first.

I've been having contractions for around four hours (not v long).

They started at 45 seconds long and six minutes apart.

For the past two hours they are, on average, 58 seconds long and 3 minutes apart.

I know this is when I should go to the hosp, but I don't feel like it's time...

The contractions are not regular (sometimes every eight minutes, sometimes every minute and a half).

They are irregular strength (sometimes just a bit uncomfortable, other times genuinely painful).

They are irregular length (30-60 seconds).

They are very low down in my pelvis, which feels more like early labour (cervix opening) than later labour (squeezing baby down and out).

As an aside - my waters have not yet broken.

I've spoken to the midwife, she is happy to go with my lead.

I'm about 15 mins in a cab from the hosp.

WWYD?

I move quickly from 5-6cm to pushing. I'm sure the same will be true for you too OP. Big hugs xx

I was like that for 3 days! I asked the doctor for a c section I was so pissed off! No progress, actually I think I was less dilated at the last examination: 3 cms. The doctor said, ok I will give you a section in half an hour. (I doubt she meant it, she just felt sorry for me)
5 minutes later my waters broke. Labour officially started at 21.05, baby in my arms at 21.23.
hopefully once your waters go, the baby will be here like a bullet too. Good luck.

3luckystars · 16/10/2016 22:11

You are doing great!

ThinkPinkStink · 17/10/2016 01:49

Thanks all! I'm hoping for a very speedy second stage!!

I've finally been ADMITTED!! I popped (staggered) to the walk in clinic (same hosp) as my bladder was SO FROCKING SORE making contractions even more ghastly than they needed to. As we left the building I just contracted and contracted and contracted, pretty much non stop for an hour. There was literally no way that DH could have got me into a cab home.

So here I am, still contracting every second or third minute - it's no fun, but at least there's progress!

Thank you to all those who helped me
keep the hope/faith - it was beginning to feel interminable xxx

OP I hope you have your baby by now!

ThinkPinkStink · 18/10/2016 16:43

FINALLY! We have a daughter.

After a total of ninety hours labour (from first contraction) two false starts, two catheters, some pethidine, an epidural, a spinal block and a failed forcep action, baby was finally delivered via bloody c-section at 5:30 this morning.

Of course she was worth every moment and is the light of our lives.

Name not yet confirmed, we're thinking of Rosemary (Rosie as a nn).

Congratulations! That is pretty much how my first one went! He is six now and still fab. Had a failed VBAC next time and then an elective section with not a single contraction, bliss! Sorry it was such a long process but so glad she is here safe and sound xx
