What was this pain?

I'm 40+6 had a sweep on Tuesday and registrar said I'd be back later or the following day because I was already 2cms dilated-however nothing yet, found the sweep really painful and had really bad period type pains for a good 6 hours afterwards. After some 'get the baby out' bd last night I'm convinced the semen (not being too rampant DH is very gentle)sent me into the same type of constant pain for another 5-6 hours-wouldn't describe them as b/h contractions because it was there all the time but it did hurt like hell. Any ideas what was happening?

SHHHH · 03/02/2007 21:13

BTW next baking session do you think you could manage chocolate muffins..?

lulumama · 03/02/2007 21:16

can;t do cakes i'm afraid, they come out biscuity !

SHHHH · 03/02/2007 21:30

oh well....will settle with flapjacks and a bag of mini eggs.

lulumama · 03/02/2007 21:32

soooo demanding !

sorkycake · 03/02/2007 21:38

LM you're site is lovely, have left a little note, hope you don't mind. I don't like flapjacks, but make a mean choc brownie.
I just wanted to say that at my local hospital the delivery suite is all individual ensuite rooms, though there is an ante-natal ward where people stay to be monitored. But for delivering you get privacy! Nothing would make me labour in front of a whole bunch of people I didn't know, might as well be in the fecking car park! Sharing a ward is just barbaric!

lulumama · 03/02/2007 21:39

thanks sorkycake! how you doing?

sorkycake · 03/02/2007 21:41

Oh and apologies for being OT and the hijack and the typo's. I'm drinking a chilled glass of Rose and it's delish and I don't care. Dh is making a curry. Lm he is refusing to provide any more duties for fear of infection now I've had a show, isn't that unfair. He should finish what he started is what I told him and get back up there!

lulumama · 03/02/2007 21:45

LOL!!! you can do it after the show, but not when the waters have gone..as long as the membranes are intact, you are protected from infections !

TBH , a glass of wine and a nice dinner will do you the world of good !

lulumama · 03/02/2007 21:58

sleep well all xx

SHHHH · 03/02/2007 22:02

wine...mmmmmmmmmmm....although think I will settle for bed.!!

LOL about your dh sc, my dh won't go near either and in fact suggested time alone with a buzzing friend..said it would have a similar effect .!
I have the same opinion as you sc..they got us into this mess so they can get us out.!

SC what hospitals have a shared del ward..? Ours have seperate rooms as well...god couldn't imagine going through that with others on full view... And I thought it was bad when admitted when in labour with dd and had to stay on the ward for around 3 hours till I was dilated enough to go to delivery suite..Thing is it was 3am and it was on a ward where women who had already had their babies and were trying to get some sleep. ! LOL try having quiet contractions...!!!

SHHHH · 03/02/2007 22:03

night lm and sc. Im off as well x

sorkycake · 03/02/2007 22:10
