I'm term+10 today and being induced tomorrow, and starting to get a little nervous! Tell me it'll all be ok, please

(Oh and you can tell me that having a new baby with a 19m old ds is a breeze, too!)

I've had 4 inductions they got mainly better each time (3rd one nearly failed but that one was done at term rather than term+14-16 - so that was my own stupid fault for not waiting another 2 weeks). The labours got going quicker each time and by the last one I was so chilled about being induced I managed easily on gas and air and it was abolutely FANTASTIC I want to do it all again!!!!!!! HTH

at Nemo, how are you doing? And as for housework - I've never worried about it before, why start now
Buffysmum, it's funny isn't it, I think some people just overcook babies. I went T+14 with ds, and my mum went over with all three of us, and I think her mum went over with her two (pretty sure she was induced with my mum at least!). I think if I do it again, I'll just take my EDD as 2 weeks after it should be, lol!

sending happy birthing and back rub vibes to you for tomorrow...

remember to breathe !

and when you hold your wee little one in your arms, it will all be soooo worth it....

It's totally a genetic thing, my mum went overdue and i have long cycles (up to 6 weeks) that is why 40 weeks is an average!!!!

I seriously considered waiting longer but the risks after 14 days do rapidly increase, plus when I waited until T+16 there was loads of meconium etc plus she was 10lb6oz but I did actually have some contractions all on my own before I went into hospital!

The last(4th)time I had a bishops score of 1 6 hours after the first pessary and all the pains from the gel down my legs (tens machine stops the rest though) - I nearly cried, couldn't believe it. Then the next lot and after an hour it starting to get going more pain for a few hours and in the end I went from 8cm to delivered in about mins - only 3 contractions. Only then did I discover how much your backs hurts afterwards as I hadn't had an epidural for the first time.

Hope it goes really well tomorrow - it really should go better than the first time.

Thanks, Lulu. Am off to be sociable to dh, who's job tomorrow is to do just what you did - rub my back and remind me to breathe
Look forward to telling you about it!

I went in for an induction with dd2 - I was given the whole chat about what to expect etc - they examined me and I was already 4cm dialated, I had noooo idea.

So they said no need to give me pessaries etc, we'll just break your waters and ask you to move around a bit - so they did, I jiggled about for an hour - nothing happened.

so they said - ok we'll put you on the drip thing (was 5 years ago can't remember what it's called) - ok says me, but can I have an epidural first - no probs they say - so I have epidural, and drip thing. 2 Hours later - beautiful baby girl - happy smiley me and dh, no pain, no hassle, no probs. don't worry.
