Hi redfruit. Having gone 14 days over with ds, I was hoping to go earlier this time, but it doesn't look much like it. Sorry! I think you're almost as well off imagining your due date as nearly two weeks over, just for your sanity!!

Hi, as you can see, I'm also still here! I was 2 weeks over with dd, and currently 8 days over now DD was 9lbs 3oz, and I'm hoping this doesn't necessarily mean I'm in for a complete whopper this time! No news here from gr8mama - hopefully that means good news for her... maybe the castor oil has worked (yuk!) Any more twinges Becks? Here's hoping this weekend there is a mass of babies deciding to make an appearance xx

Are you still here, Spalex?
Have you found the ante-natal thread for people due in January? (Though there's only about two of us left on it now!)

spalex · 28/01/2007 06:43

Well hopefully you and I can add our names to the list of 'delivered' pretty soon 2happy! I've been up since about 04.30 this morning, and (I think!) something has started I've been following all the advice about best ways to bring labour on, and it looks like there may be some truth behind the ... er... oral sex theory on a coouple of the other threads . And there was me thinking it was just a myth put about by men!
Anyway, every 20 mins or so I've been getting strong tightenings for about 30 secs lower down in the abdomen area - more intense than the BHs I'd been having, and certainly more regular. Sounds like this could be early labour to me - please yes! On the other hand, I could just be being overly optimistic - will let you know either way x

Look forward to hearing an update , good luck

Hi Ladies, well don't know if it was the castor oil or the nipple tweeking but my 'little' bundle was delivered 12.30am on morning of Friday 26, Luke Edward, 8lbs 14oz, and I must say he is gorgeous. Contractions really started regulating Thursday about 3.00pm and he was born 9 hrs later! My VBAC delivery was successful I'm pleased to say....eye watering but successful!! How is everyone else doing? Can't wait to hear the news!

Well I presume Spalex has had hers by now!
Congrats again, gr8mama

Well glad to say my little bundle of joy arrived on Friday night at 1810 weighing 8lbs 3oz. We have called him Nathan and so far he's being a very good boy. My labour was very fast and intense! Met friends for lunch and was having lots of twinges during lunch - got home at 4pm - got into birthing pool at 5pm - husband was nagging mw's to come out and ended up dialling 999 at about 5.45 - paramedics arrived with 10 mins to spare and thankfully the gas and air - mw's arrived with 5 mins to spare. So did get my home water birth but not quite as calm as we'd hoped!

Congratulations, Becks. What a whirlwind labour! Glad the mw got there in time...just!
