HELP...having contractions...

I had a show at about 2pm today.

Have been having contractions for the past couple of hours which starts with pain in my back which leads to period type pains which leads to tummy tightening.

I am trying to time them but getting confused. Should I be timing them from the start of the pain itself or from when my tummy tightens? And do I time it from the beginning of a contraction to the end or to the beginning of the next one?

Eeeek...

Hi just popping in to check how you are! So you've been contracting for over 24hrs now? About 3 nights prior to my baby being born i had mild contractions/braxton hicks ??who knows!?? every ten mins but they always disappeared by the morning.

The morning i woke with contractions - they were so painful i just knew dd was going to arrive and she did within and hour or so.

I did post my birth announcement but there wasn't much to it .

Good luck!

Hi

No baby yet.

Was woken up at 6am with painful contractions. They have been getting steadily worse throughout the day.

Just been out for an hours walk and had to lean on DP through most of them. They are only about 5 mins apart lasting for about 1 minute.

I was thinking of ringing the midwife to come out and see me but am thinking they will just fob me off because I'm not in agony yet and because the contractions are not 3 mins apart or something like that.

I don't need the midwife for me. I'd just like to know that my baby is coping well with the contractions. I can feel him moving now so he must be okay.

Will keep you updated the best I can...

xxxxx

hi babe..you are doing very well..the calmness is coming off you in waves

3 mins apart is a good indication of established labour..if you don;t need the midwife..don't call..but if you do, then no harm to give her a quick ring...

sounds good ....x

Well hopefully you are well on your way to having your baby or already have it by now?

If not - a word of warning, i woke with contractions every five mins - dp told me to ring mw i said no way i've only just woken it'll be hours yet. 10mins later i was screaming ring her NOW!!! and 40mins after she arrived the baby arrived. So if you aren't already delivering your baby, i would call in and let them know you'll be wanting them soon just for peace of mind.

take care xxx
