right here comes the gory details
i got took in saturday morning for obs and they decided at 11.30 to break my waters. once this was done got told to go for a walk to canteen and eat so did what i was told all the time leaking waters which was lovley.
i then went back at 1pm with contractions every 4 mins. had bath and got examined at 2pm and was told was 5cm so got on ball at 2.30pm and bounced.then asked for pain relief but was told no to late bot back on bed and 2 pushes and he was out.midwife was not ready at all and just manged to get gloves on just in time.
i was so happy that had done it without pain releif only to be told that i had retained so placenta and had to go to surgery have a spinal and get it removed. was gutted. then spent night on hdu and got home sunday at 3pm.

as soon as you feel ready...!!

Hey, happy news! Well done! I too had a retained placenta and its a bit upsetting when you just want to settle down and stare at your baby. However, its over and he's here. Go out when you feel ready, a little walk about with him wrapped up in his pram on a sunny, cold morning, you can't beat it .
