Congratulations Honeybunny on the safe arrival of ds2. Delighted that all went well for you & that you are home so quickly. Very envious now at 41 weeks myself!

Joe1 · 20/04/2002 15:55

Well done Honeybunny and good luck to you Bugsy

Day6 and all still continuing well!! ds2 v contented, feeding well, lots of milk etc, fingers crossed that long may it continue. ds1 unfortunately down with G'ma's cold today so a little tearful, clingy and mummy orientated. Still sleeping and eating well, on GF routines, so no problem either.

dh on the other hand has managed to put a pile of dirty nappies into the tumble dryer without actually washing them first. (Apparantly they just sat in the w/machine for 1.5hrs first- "course I checked darling!!" this was last night after a few, me in bed asleep, and without turning the laundry room light on - doh!) Any tips on how to effectively clean your tumble dryer after this kind of episode gratefully appreciated. And I thought I was the sleep deprived, hormonal fuddled brained person .... clearly not!!

PS dh sleeps through night-time feeds and nappy changes, I do it all myself! He continues to snore loudly beside me, and then cheerfully asks in the morning if I had a good night!!

48hrs after cs and home was my decision. Kings College Hospital Post natal care leaves a lot to be desired. Nobody comes to you after 10pm no matter how many times you press the bell, so whats the point in staying is my feeling. Labour ward is a completely different picture, midwives there are fantastic and can't do enough for you which is brilliant. I've been v lucky with both sections, home after 48hrs both times. I had it done under a spinal both times, pain post op was negligible, and more than managed by voltarol and paracetamol, which I'm now no longer needing to take. Stitches out y'day, wound healing really well (despite a hacking cough for the last 2weeks-definitely a tug on those stitches each time I cough). Muscles not returning to pre-preg state quite as quickly this time, again not helped by the cough I think. But heh, it is just day 6, early days yet. Definitely can't rave enough about the whole event, its been a dream! And little Theo is gorgeous!

Many thanks for all of your kind messages, and Good Luck to any others expecting their new bundles soon. Hope things go well for you too.

Lovely to hear that all is well, Honeybunny. As to the tumble drier - we once had a tom cat pee in ours(!) and elbow grease with old rags and a solution of biological wahing powder in hot water was how we restored it to working order.

MalmoMum · 21/04/2002 21:58

So glad to hear you so sunny. A very wet towel and one of those Bounce sheets that make your tumble drying smell like an air freshened lou might do it. As most tumble driers are designed to take away any light solid material at least it shouldn't get into the mechanism. Hopefully you can heat most nasties away.

I, too, realised that even a supposedly sleep deprived dh was a liablility from day one.

Keep on enjoying your new baby. It's lovely to hear this sort of thing: I was starting to forget about the end result of pregnancy as I feel I've been pg forever. Only 15 weeks to go.

pupuce · 21/04/2002 22:03

I certainly hope it's your husband who will "fix" or clean it.... What a story - it did make me smile - sorry !!!!

Men do the funniest things, he definately needs to do the cleaning yuk

honeybunny · 22/04/2002 19:53

Tumble dryer cleaned and restored to normal working order. dh, after a severe verbal clip round the ear from me (!), insisted I had an early night and brought me up b'fast in bed after a lie in this morning. Relations have been restored :-)!!

Bugsy2 · 26/04/2002 21:49

Just to let you all know that baby girl arrived on Wednesday morning at 1am. Having fretted for the last 2.5yrs about delivery, I managed it in under 2 hours and no time for any pain relief (don't like gas & air). DD weighed 8lb 6oz and is doing really well. DS very excited by her arrival, so everything looking good so far.
