It's been nearky a week of on off contractions. They are driving me potty. This afternoon they were 5 mins apart, and I was all set to toddle off to delivery suite, but then they promptly stopped. It's been like this since Thursday last week, and I have had as much as I can take.

Is there ANYTHING I can do to help things move along a bit. I have overdosed on RL tea this afternoon, but to no avail. Can't do sex, as have SPD, plus DP is at work. Anything. Please

I am 38 weeks, and I'm booked in for a CS next Weds, I really cannot take another week of this. I feel shit.

This worked for my ds. Went into labour on due date. 13 hour labour. 1)oral 'adminsitration' of sperm (not particularly pleasant but well worth it) , 2) a bath with a mix of essential oils including lavender and clary sage and lots of sex.

There is a birth announcement

belgo · 06/09/2006 18:16

maybe you should look under birth announcements?

DD1 was 2 days early (cot building and 1 raspberry leaf tea - I used real leaves, it was foul). DS1 was 10 days late - no cot building and no tea. As my previous pregnancy & birth had been OK my midwife said she'd give me another week before booking an induction and then tipped me off with the 2 tablespoons of castor oil thing. She also did a membrane sweep - very uncomfortable. Luckily I went into labour the next day without the oil - which I'm told is seriously revolting. DD2 was a week early (she's my favourite )

You'll have had your baby by now, however, for everyone else - try acupuncture, reflexology, shiatsu or acupressure form someone quslified of course!

millysimmons · 11/09/2006 18:04

Thanks Rumpel, I'm reading this as in the same situation... had accupunture today, got reflexology booked tommorrow, she said that all her ladies have gone into active labour within 36 hours- sounds good!!! Also have 2 more sessions of accupunture pencilled in from a course I paid for last year for my bad back & had forgotten about!! WIll keep you all posted
