I pooped in labour and had no idea until dh kindly let me know a few days later, I know I peed because I asked the midwife if it was my waters, nope just pee! This was all at the pushing stage though so I can be forgiven

I pood. I had an epidural so didn't feel anything - but the stench! Holy cow! It was dealt with swiftly. I didn't really care, the whole birth was a frightning shitstorm ahem so that was the least of my worries.

A lot of people poo and will never know. One of my first skills learnt on birthing unit placement was how to discreetly change the pads without the woman or her partner noticing why. :)

I did poo..Blush not pee .. same case as OnTheBottomWithAWomansWeekly . Got epidural so didn't know what was happening down there..but as my midwife was changing gloves going to sink in between.. therefore I asked to my DH who was standing next to me then he just nodded his head.. but it looked like he didnt care about it and his full concentration was on our DS and to encourage me Smile

I don't think so... I know I peed because baby got covered in it and my DH made jokes about golden showers (which should have been really inappropriate but somehow hilarious when on pethedine).

Not the third time, which is strange cos she was much bigger than my first two.

GrandPoohBah · 11/07/2013 20:15

Nope. I had a big clear out in the early stages of labour and so I was able to push unimpeded Grin

I actually found that being pregnant made me more regular rather than constipated - obviously the baby wriggling next to my colon helped everything move through. Didn't avoid the post-pushing piles though Hmm

yes i pooed. quite a lot i think. poor nurse. she assured me that anyone who says they didn't with their first is either lying or was lied to.

I think I might have done but DH says I didn't. I did have a thorough clear out a few hours befor though so there might not have been anything left to poop ou!

I didn't, but I only pushed 3 times... I did however pee epically on every contraction for the last 10-15 mins before I delivered! The midwife couldn't help but laugh and ask when it was all coming from!

if I did then my midwife and dh didn't tell me

I've not had a baby yet, but can I ask a question?

If you do, do they, you know, wipe your arse for you? doesn't it go everywhere?

That is the single scariest thing, for me, about childbirth.

Zyn · 11/07/2013 20:23

I did! first clue was when I smelt it. Omg.

BrianTheMole · 11/07/2013 20:27

I did with the first. No idea with the second, but probably.

TwllBach

I only knew that I did the first time because someone wiped for me! I remember her wiping and saying 'don't worry about a thing' I remember think 'I don't care'!

Not sure about 2nd and 3rd times, but I did notice some rather deft pad removals/changes so probably!

DH said that the room looked like a rabbit hutch once I'd finished.

The midwives kept saying "at least she's pushing in the right place" Grin

I did with my two DS'. I didn't with DD.

Third time lucky I guess.

In the pool:

Me: I'm gonna poo
Midwife: no you're not, it's just the baby coming
Repeat twice then
Midwife to the assistant: can you get the sieve please?

Yep, I pooed and peed. First time i didn't though, I asked, and I was catheterised as I was a wee refuser, too many drugs first time round.

Yep! And I know I did.

My DH lied to me and said I hadn't but I can remember seeing it.

Nice Confused

Pooed the first time, every 2 bloody minutes for ages, I apparently pooed on the Obs hand who was using forceps on me (serves him right Wink ) but they had given me a rather large dose of lactulose then decided to take me to be induced about 30 minutes later. Hmm

I didn't second time and DP tells me I didn't as well as I thought I may just not have noticed. I didn't push or labour for very long though and DS2 was a teeny 4lb 8oz and I had a major clear out a day earlier so that may have helped. :o

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 11/07/2013 21:20

Haha! I disappeared for a while, sorry! :)

Thank you, yes another boy and he was 5 weeks early and teeny but I had a fairly lovely birth this time at least! :o I'm good now thanks, was a bit battered after he was born as I lost an awful lot of blood and ended up in theatre but I'm feeling really happy now. :)

How have you been?

:o
