Just wanted to ask you a question about labour starting - am a week over due date (don't know if you remember pupuce, but went 14 days over with dd when was musica and you were very helpful then!). Am having fairly regular pains in lower back - but not really progressing to anything - could this be the start of labour and it be going slowly or is baby in bad position? If you've got any thoughts I'd be really grateful. This will be 3rd birth btw!

Thanks!

Emkana- Have replied Smile
Tortoise... GOOD sign to have back pain (you are still a week earlier than last time).... Fancy checking your cervix ?
Why would baby be in bad position ?
Also... a bit of sex and you should get going........
P.S. Maybe I should start charging men for all that sex suggestion for inducing labour..... LOL

Thanks pupuce - just wondered if it meant baby was lying back to back - have got anterior placenta this time, and read that baby usually faces placenta? It's weird - it's like really low braxton hicks in my hips and pelvis. Don't think I could check my own cervix at this stage tbh - not flexible enough!

Anyway, dh will love you forever! I'm hoping not to go the full 14 days over this time, although at least it is not the height of summer like last time.

Thanks again for replying!

Well, have been having definite contractions since 5 this am - but they don't seem to be settling into a pattern - they're about 5 mins apart on average, but don't feel like they're making progress iyswim - any thoughts what I can expect? Ds was induced and dd just came really quickly, so don't really know what's going on here. I'm trying to walk round lots to get them going.

Have you got a birthing ball or swiss ball ?
A friend has just had a DD and she swore by it.
Good Luck :)

Oooo good luck Tortoiseshell! :)

My 2nd labour took ages to become 'established labour'. I walked round for hour upon hour, what seemed to help in the end was getting down on all fours and just rocking like that, it seemed to kick start it all and it went quickly after that, really helped with the back pain too.

Congratulations tortoiseshell! The first May baby...

Sorry to hear the labour wasn't good but hopefully you will have a short recovery time - and what a good baby to have a daytime birth!
