How long between show and your birth?

Would love to hear experiences, as think I had show last night and with DD it heralded labour. I know it can be ages beforehand tho. What's more common? Due date today...drumming fingers, mother on phone et cetera...!

Still nothing. Going steadily mad, and biting the heads off people who even mention the baby, its arrival, my pregnancy, etc etc... Can't even fathom not being pregnant any more. Nor can I fathom one more week til my induction date. Aaargh!!!!!!!

My contractions started on 29th April, and I had few hours of contractions then a few hours of nothing. Then on Friday morning I had a show, and contractions started getting fairly regular. Its now Monday and everything seems to have died right down. It's really dissapointing :( all that pain and discomfort and I'm still not at all dilated.
