...well, not really...

But I did do my first delivery today. And all I'm saying is, man, babies are slippery little suckers Grin

Aaaahhhh....

Have to say, my midwife misunderstood my "I never saw the boys' placentas" and insisted on showing me DDs. Of course I meant "I'm so glad I never saw..."

TheOldDragon · 07/03/2006 20:06

No stitches? Cow. I hate her already Wink

Oh, here's a top tip for when you're allowed to stitch - do not use the phrase "I'll trim this just here." to which I replied, lying on my back on the bed, "I hope that's the thread you're talking about..."

Piffle · 07/03/2006 20:14

And Snafu may you NEVER encounter a man who asks you to sew his wife up a little "tighter" Shock
I've never had a stich either, something I'm totally thrilled about and my fanny is just fine.

Nightynight · 07/03/2006 20:48

you can have one of my babies any time snafuGrin

rachp · 07/03/2006 20:49

That is just fantastic, sanfu :) Wow I envy you, must be the most satisfying thing in the world - short of giving birth!

manitz · 07/03/2006 20:51

congrats snafu. it sounds really loverly. I have you lined up for #3. was it a home birth?

snafu · 07/03/2006 20:54

Hello lovey Smile Nope, hospital birth but lights low, music on and plenty of tea and ginger nuts so, y'know, almost the same as at home!

No. 3? Trying to tell me something?

Hopefully I'll be doing this in a couple of years.

allyco · 08/03/2006 14:09

so would you recommend midwifery as a career then snafu? My DD2 fancies it (she's 13 so got a way to go yet)and when I asked her why she said well when you have had babies you gave the m/ws great presents afterwards.....

maybe I should retrain then Grin
