I'm now 5 days overdue with second DC and fed up to the back teeth of waiting.

Been having twinges the last 24 hrs and was convinced lastnight that labour was actually starting but they've faded now.

Saw the MW today for a sweep but she said it would be too painful and I should wait a few more days to see if DD comes of her own accord.

Arghhh, I'm actually beginning to wonder if I'm ever going to actually give birth. sorry, for the whingefest......

Hi guys!! Still no baby Sad feeling very pissed off and fed up, laboured all night and into today, MW told me she would be back to break my waters within the hour, and that was the last I saw of her Sad

They did handover and the labour ward was then emergency after emergency and I went further and further down the list. To cut a long story short, they've sent me home to carry on labouring as they need the bed Angry

I also have a water infection which isn't helping with the pain and I'm just fed up now Sad

i cannot offer you any words of wisdom, and nothing i say would help , you must be so frustrated, my only advise is keep active (if you can) it does help and have a cuppa.

To be honest Babylon1, home is probably the best place for you, rather than being on a noisy, hot antenatal ward. If they're that busy then I'd be inclined to phone them when you need some pain relief and request that someone be sent out - I'd rather have a community midwife or two at home with me than share a hospital midwife with two or three other labouring women in the hospital!

I share your pain Babylon because I've just been sent home too. Had very irregular contractions and only 1cm dilated so looks like neither of us will be having our baby today!

Bloody fed up too.

Chin up ladies, we'll get there soon Smile

But yes, majorly fed up here Sad

Babylon1 · 11/04/2012 07:31

@ Flisspaps

You are so right and I've made a decision now that I'm not going to go to labour ward unless absolutely necessary. Smile

I will ring for support from CMW and pain relief and if it gets so bad, I'll call an ambulance if need be, but I can't keep going to be monitored to be told that I'm 2-3cm then 4am dilated, to then be sent home cos they're too busy for me!! Angry

Lots of walking for me today!!! Wink

Well I had my gorgeous DD at 1.45 this morning.

Got home and contractions were coming every 3 mins. Held out to 1am, waters went in the bathroom at home and just made it to hospital in time. Literally went from 5cm to 10cm in minutes.

A bit scary and tbh think I'm in a but of shock especially as even the MW was surprised how quickly it happened!
