Am 38+4 been contracting mildly on and off since Wednesday. Daytimes are mainly bearable but at night things crank up a notch. Currently trying to rest just taken 2 paracetamol they haven't helped yet. Contractions are sort of regular but I haven't really been timing them as they just fizzle out after a few hours.
Anyone else I can pass the time chatting to or compare notes? Have heard this can go on for weeks (great)

Ha ha princess, started to read your post, saw 33 weeks and in my grumpiness thought no you can not join in that's ages! Wow don't envy you being pregnant with twins, especially when you already have a dd, must be exhausting. Will envy you when they are born as there is something about twins which is super gorgeous! I guess def no trying to get home out for you and lots of rest. It is boring though. I gave up bed rest after 2 days. The funny thing is once the babies arrive we will be wishing for the sleep back.
Monkee you sound like me but only further in. The guilt with the older 2 is awful isn't it? I have taken to reading books in bed and doing sit down things with them but as they are boisterous boys this only lasts so long. Thank god the weather is decent and the park near by. Not sure I would go to London to be honest. How fast did your other 2 come? Naive heard too many stories from friends of babies being born in toilets and hallways. Not sure if a packed train is top of my list!
Everything completely stopped here. Even managed a good nights sleep and a 3 hour sleep today. Mil taken the boys overnight but I really must get dressed at some point!

MonkeeMummy · 10/08/2011 18:22

You're probably right... but an hour on a train on my own with a book sounds so appealing right now... but the thought of delivering in a train toilet... I don't even like weeing in them let alone anything else.

I'm also worried about what the house will look like when I get back. Yup, my nesting has reached new levels this time. At the moment I clean like a maniac in the morning and then whiz the girls out for the afternoon before they can undo all my hard work. I know, I need to have this baby soon...

PrincessScrumpy · 10/08/2011 19:12

Grumps my bump measured full term at 28weeks so I'm very ready! I can barely stand and am just so tired. I want to not be pg anymore but I also feel guilty for thinking that as babies are still too little and best off staying put. Understand your initial thought though Grin

flutterbye1988 · 12/08/2011 10:14

39 weeks today i started with regular but short tightening last Tuesday and this has continued every evening since, as a selfish person i have been getting very annoyed when i wake up the next morning and all has stopped.

this morning the pain has changed to a pain down the sides of my bump (still getting the urge to throw up/run to the loo with every tightening, but this is the first time i have had pain during the day ( i went on a 3 mile walk crawl yesterday) so i am hopeful this might be it now but i don't want to raise my hopes again for it to stop later this afternoon

vvviola · 12/08/2011 14:07

Still here... lots of back pain (only 4 hours sleep last night as a result), the occasional contraction, but that's about it. Have now passed the stage when DD arrived.

I'm thinking of buying cinema or theatre tickets or something for tomorrow night in the superstitious hope that having something non-refundable will move this baby along Grin (of course, I'd probably end up just having to sit through it in agony instead!)

Curry, walks and bouncing on the ball for me this evening (but no sex... I'm in so much pain that the thoughts of it... nope... definitely not...

flutterbye hopefully this is it for you.

TinyDiamond · 12/08/2011 15:57

I'm still here too. Lots of heavy pressure from baby but even less contractions today hmmmmm so very annoying. Just waiting for dp to return then we're off to a music festival. We have weekend tickets that are worth a fortune, I was doing the same as the cinema tickets trying to preempt things thinking that if we make plans and really look forward to them clearly baby will ruin plans. No such luck yet. Although hopefully a good boogie will set things off. Unfortunately it has just rained ALOT so will have to get into wellies. Interesting it'll be the first time I've worn anything other than flip flops since 22weeks!!

I'm still here, too, although hoping that this baby will arrive soooooon!. I am on my 4th night of waking up at 4am in pain. Greige were you induced today? Hope you'll be holding your beautiful baby soon.

Full moon on Sat - wahey!

owlbooty · 12/08/2011 16:20

Can I join in please? I am 41 weeks today and VERY FED UP. I was convinced something was kicking off this morning but now it's all gone quiet. I've had two sweeps and bugger-all has happened. I feel like a fat, knackered, achey whale.

Hope it gets properly going for all of you very soon, tis bloody miserable!!

Sausagesarenottheonlyfruit · 12/08/2011 18:01

Do you think the full moon will kick us off Monkee?

Here's hoping for a result for all of us, especially owlbooty you poor woman ye

stopgap · 12/08/2011 21:03

First post for me, so here's an initial hello!

I'm 39+1, lost my mucous plug in full yesterday afternoon, and have since been experiencing lower back pain and intermittent contractions. I've been swimming every day this past week, plus long walks, so I'm hoping things will get into a bona fide rhythm very soon.

Good luck and renewed perseverance to one and all :)

Gumps · 12/08/2011 22:22

Oooh full moon! Weirdly ds2 keeps telling everyone that baby girl is coming on Saturday (he is 2). Unfortunately dh away for weekend...
Feeling far less ready to give birth. Tmi but all the goings on down below have stopped and so have the pains.
Stopgap you sound like baby will come any time soon so good luck.
Has anyone who posted on here had a baby?
Greige hope things happened quickly for you. Would love to hear about induction and hat your experience was like.
Princess wow! One of my bf went into labour with her twins on my wedding day. She went home for a lie down after the meal and her waters broke. She wore an orange dress and we always are in awe of her in the photos as to how she managed to move. She spent most of the reception with her feet in a swimming pool!

TinyDiamond · 13/08/2011 12:21

Had my show this morning so hoping that means things are on the move. Still getting lots of period pains and walked loads last night, baby is definitely much lower but has caused compete agony in my pelvis-it has completely seized up and I can barely walk. Not so fun now.

MonkeeMummy · 13/08/2011 15:42

Apparently labour wards are at their busiest during the full moon. I'm hoping for a result this weekend because I'm now totally fed up with being pregnant (at 39+5). Had a great night's sleep last night (after 4/5 rubbish nights) and have been having intermittent contractions today and the head is very low! Fingers-crossed for us all.

TinyDiamond · 14/08/2011 01:42

Slept most of the afternoon today it was all I could do as pelvis is still agony.
Feel quite rested but now wide awake as contractions are 7/8 mins apart and intensifying! Trying to sleep but just can't I'm sooo hot

Sausagesarenottheonlyfruit · 14/08/2011 02:01

Looks like you might be the first to go Tinydiamond! Very excited for you!

TinyDiamond · 14/08/2011 03:43

That's what I thought so got up, started getting things ready. Woke up DP who started putting up pool (hopeful homebirth) rang through to midwives to give them heads up as thought they might be busy (they are dead quiet Apparantly) and then after all this....things are slowing :( cx still regular but feel less intense. So now I'm back lying on bed on Midwifes advice trying to relax. Grrrrr

OP posts:
Pudding2be · 14/08/2011 15:56

Can I join please? I'm 37 + 5, I've been having backache and period pains on and off for the past few days. Not had a show or anything like that so I don't think it will be any time soon Sad. Although baby is 3/5 engaged so at least something is going in the right direction

I'm feeling v tired, grumpy and sorry for myself. I hope I haven't got another four weeks of this think I need to give myself a slap and stop wallowing in self pity lol

I never thought I would be looking forward to pain Smile

Gumps · 14/08/2011 18:37

Tiny diamond hope you have a baby in your arms.
Dh home so mine can come out now!

TinyDiamond · 14/08/2011 23:21

Fraid not yet but we are on the way. After labouring for 19 hours at home using only tens and paracetamol had to have blue light homebirth transfer in to be hooked up to synto drip and epi...back to back naughty baby and failure to progress past 4cm. Rubbish. Starting to get numb now. Just knackered and disheartened

OP posts:
MonkeeMummy · 15/08/2011 08:21

Thinking about you TinyDiamond. Hope you do have your baby now and are managing to get some rest after your epic birth. Let us know how you're doing.

Gumps · 15/08/2011 09:28

Oh poor you tiny diamond. You are doing really well - keep your spirits up. Can't be long now.

Olipop · 15/08/2011 21:46

Hello...can I join the queue?
I'm due on Thursday and been having crappy non productive and very irregular contractions since Saturday night. Midwife did a sweep on Sunday (bless her!) but still nothing really worth writing home about. This is DC3 and both others were waters break..contractions start..baby born. DS took about 10 hours and DD took 2 3/4 hours! I'm not used to this protracted stuff and am being a bit grumpy! I know I'm not even due yet and both the others were a bit late (7 days and 4 days) but this limbo state is a right old pain! I guess I should be grateful it's not physically painful yet.

TinyDiamond · 15/08/2011 22:29

Our beautiful baby girl was finally born at 4am this morning after a horrific and traumatising birth. 7lb5 and a full head of thick dark hair. Amazing. Good luck to you all

OP posts:
Gumps · 16/08/2011 04:23

Congratulations tiny diamond. So sorry to hear it was traumatic. You sound like your beautiful bundle is taking your mind off it though. Rest up and enjoy.

Olipop · 16/08/2011 16:13

Congratulations....hope you are recovering from the trauma! X
