I have just been for a wee and for the 2nd time today experienced a popping feeling as I sat on the loo. Also I have been getting a wet gusset all day, discharge & dampness. Trickling not gushing. Sorry if this puts some of you off your pot noodles. I am going in tomorrow morning for my pre c/s checks and then having baby on Friday am. And can anyone tell me if waters trickling stains your pants. This is probably the last time I can post on here cos of the shame of asking such yukky questions.

Oh and does your mucus plug have to be tinged, can it just be white jelly stuff.

codswallop · 24/09/2003 22:14

YUK W!!!

no idea - never happened each time!!

pupuce · 24/09/2003 22:25

The plug does not have to be tinged but it often is.
Is the dischrage clear ? What does it smell like ??? You started the thread - youanswer the question now you hear ? LOL !!!!

wiltshire · 24/09/2003 22:36

Smells of errm, dunno really, not sweet, sort of discharge really. Codswallop, sorry to be graphic but I am having a nervous breakdown and don't want to phone m/wives at hosp.

wiltshire · 24/09/2003 22:36

Yes leaving water mark on pants, not yellow or anything, clear.

OP posts:
pupuce · 24/09/2003 22:36

It's not the "regular" white discharge?

pupuce · 24/09/2003 22:37

Sorry - need to pusue investigation - is it really quite wet or more thick ?

wiltshire · 24/09/2003 22:37

don't think so

OP posts:
pupuce · 24/09/2003 22:38

Wet or thick ?
I know your answer is to previous post... we are cross-posting !

wiltshire · 24/09/2003 22:39

Oh and popping increasing. As soon as I bend forward I pop in the nether regions.

OP posts:
wiltshire · 24/09/2003 22:40

Wet & thick jelly like shit rather than the regular IYKWIM.

hmmmmmm it might be amniotic fluid - if it is you will start labour on YOUR own within 72 hours (max )! So it's your chance to try vaginal... (bear in mind that if you go for section you will have a hard time getting a vaginal birth next time!)
If you go to hospital tomorrow and tell them they will either induce you - within x hours - (I WOULD NOT recommend!) or they will keep you and section you right there and then

THINK about the consequences of your choices...
Entirely IN YOUR HANDS !

wiltshire · 24/09/2003 22:42

Oh shit shit shit shit, panicking now

OP posts:
wiltshire · 24/09/2003 22:43

Sorry, thank you so much for your info, have to go and have shout/panic/talk with DH. Thanks again, you're an angel.

pupuce · 24/09/2003 22:44

BTW - they (hospital) would check if it is amniotic fluid. Their test is 90% accurate.
If it is they get into management mode*... some might say rightly, but evidence based midwifery (i.e. more researched based and up to date) would say rubbish !

  • (i.e. decisions kind of get taken away from you)
pupuce · 24/09/2003 22:45

Hey - don't panic - ALL IS FINE!!!!!!!

pupuce · 24/09/2003 22:49

PLEEEAAASE don't panic - it's fine .... really ...... happens every day !
Don't worry you're not about to have our baby in 5 minutes or 5 hours for that matter!

And please don't prove me wrong

pupuce · 24/09/2003 22:52

OK now I am panicking.... Wilstshire..... pease come back !
Are you having a contaction or what ????

mears · 24/09/2003 22:58

Wiltshire - if you are still there - pop in a sanitary towel and see what happens. If it becomes damp with no sensation of fluid leaking, your waters may be trickling. If you do not have a temperature you can afford to stay at home and see what happens. However, if you are concerned, phone the hospital for advice. In my own unit we admit anyone who thinks their waters have broken and keep them. We are hoping to change practice soon and send them home again until labour starts or they come in to get induced. Unless you start having contractions it is most likely you would be admitted and have your C/S tomorrow as you are booked for an elective section - unless you decide you want to labour.
Will keep an eye on this post to see what happens. Good luck.

mears · 24/09/2003 22:58

Sorry, meant to say pad damp with no sensation of urine leaking, then waters have probably broken.

sunchowder · 25/09/2003 03:09

Whiltie! So sorry I missed this! I am sure you are on your way somewhere by now...hope all goes well for you!!!

Ghosty · 25/09/2003 04:52

Oh ... the suspense ... I don't think I can cope!
Wiltshire .... your had better come and update ... even if you are in labour ... or else

Why was wiltshire having a CS, does anyone know? Is it a problem if she's gone into labour? Hope she's OK - she went off a bit suddenly last night - fingers and toes crossed!

ANGELMOTHER · 25/09/2003 09:25
