What was your last meal before you went into labour?

I keep thinking - this could be my last meal before the baby comes!

With DS it was chicken and mash from my lovely neighbour whose house I escaped to when my waters broke and I was all on my own.

Pasta and sauce - about all that's in DH's repertoire and threw it all up again after taking codeine given by the birthing centre.

I was making a massive batch of chilli con carne so I could freeze some - sat down to eat it and my waters broke. Finished it all then had bananas and custard, which all provided much needed energy for the hours ahead!

Chicken fajitas with all the extras. I had had a sweep earlier in the day and my contractions started but I didn't tell DH until we had finished as I was desperate to eat them and very yummy they were too.

you know, I'm tempted to go through this thread and try all the suggestions!

Was expecting all these posts to say "hot curry" - proves that theory wrong!!

DS1, I absolutely cannot remember...

DC2 - am about to have curry and my due date is tomorrow so let's see!

Can't remember and it was only 5 months ago, so this time I will make sure it is something memorable.

a tuna mayo sandwich that we picked up from the supermarket on our way home from the hospital.
I'd been in to get checked because i was in a lot of pain, but 4 weeks before due date. They diagnosed SPD and sent me home.
2.30am my waters broke and we went back to hospital.
Turns out that I was right when I told them they had got my dates wrong, as DS was definitely not prem and my 'SPD' was in fact early labour Hmm

Reading through this thread seems a lot of ladies are having some sort of booze before labour is this ok???

malteser1981 · 23/03/2011 17:07

A massive pizza hut pizza. Garlic bread. 6 chicken wings. Needless to say I wasn't ketotic during labour!

Lozario · 24/03/2011 10:46

Curry didn't work. Had pasta yesterday - also didn't work!

SavannahRose I don't know - but I've often wondered if a glass of wine would be permitted in early labour to take the edge off!

V hot curry! I had breakfast the next morning when I was only having a few contractions, but can't remember what it was.

Thai takeaway with DS (which I threw up whilst in transition) and a vegetable curry with DD. I was 8 days overdue, had had a sweep the day before and she was born in less than three hours from start to finish a few hours after dinner (we also did the deed, so I think it was the combo that worked!)
