I am going to be induced tomorrow and I'm terrified. My head has somehow only registered induction as being a terrifying thing and I need to get my head sorted about this.

Please please tell me your positive experiences and how it can go well!

I'm in a bit of a state to say the least so if you are tempted to post anything negative then PLEASE DON'T POST!!!!!!

Aww, well done. You'll be posting on the next "positive induction stories required" thread. Grin

Congrats on your scrummy baby.

Congratulations on birth of beautiful boy!

I read this thread with interest [and some relief] as I am now 40 wks + 2 and wondering if I may need to be induced... I know it's early days but still good to hear some positive stories!

I was induced for dd3 - it was super quick. I only needed the first stage of the procedure and I was in active labour for only about 1.5 hours before she was born. It was definitely the easiest, least painful labour - but possibly partly because I'd had two babies already an partly because I used hypnobirthing techniques.

Good luck - think positive and your body is more likely to comply with the induction Smile

Wow! I'm so pleased it worked out so well for you!
I've been following this thread because I've been booked in for an induction on Sunday (I will be 40+12) and I'm completely petrified. I have heard so many horror stories and have built it up in my head as this huge scary scary thing that I can't get past. And now, everyday that my baby doesn't arrive I feel more and more disheartened and it gets a closer to my nightmare coming true.

But, lovely to hear all these good stories...I hope I can say the same kind of thing. Fingers crossed.

With ds1 I was in early labour - had been for 3 days - and they broke my waters...went from 4-5cms to delivered in 3 hours Smile

Good luck x

Thanks for updating!!! Congratulations! I've learnt a lot!

I was exactly the same as you pre induction. Couldn't stop crying and dreading hospital admission. Once you're there its all normal and you just get on with it. Not an ideal childbirth experience maybe but so few are.

Hi,
I'm booked in to be induced and have waters broken Sunday at 39 weeks. Any positive stories or how quick it can happen in booked in for 9.00am and I'm so hoping my little girls here by evening latest Monday morning does anyone think thats possible been told it is. That could happen from a matter of hours of being done and it's also my second baby.
