I'm booked in for a C section next week and whilst my bag is ready and packed, if i were to forget my toothbrush, would the hospital provide one for me? There's nothing worse than forgetting your toohbrush!!

If I was in your position I would be projecting all my anxieties onto a toothbrush too. Stops you worrying about the bigger picture, which tbh, sounds a bit overwhelming to me.
I hope you get the support you need.

"I married a real man"

No you didn't. Really you didn't. Won't change nappies! WTF!

But i am glad you have had the sense to pack your toothbrush now I was a little concerned from the thread title that there was some bizarre way to use a toothbrush to help with childbirth.

I did think that Wellard didn't get the juiciest of plotlines though. They were reserved for Little Willy

OmicronPersei8 · 07/01/2011 10:13

Looking after children is very different to looking after a newborn. I've known nannies who've been gobsmacked when they have a baby at just how much harder different it is caring for their newborn compared with the 6 month olds they've previously cared for. And that's without factoring major abdominal surgery..

I'd rather this was a wind up, if it's true it's just too sad.

ShirleyKnot · 07/01/2011 10:19

Advanced search Omicron.

zoezebraa · 07/01/2011 10:23

Actually, the comment on the hypnobirthing thread was quite amusing. Well done, IlovePeterAndre. A lot funnier than this thread.

Namechange and come back- I think, on reflection, you peaked too early. I sense you have more to give.

IlovePeterAndre · 07/01/2011 10:56

You are so right ShirleyKnot. Little Willy (real name Hugo Caversham) is the reason Wellard is no longer on Albert Square.

DH told me that Wellard and Dean Gafney (Robbie Fowler) became quite close on and off set if you know what mean and Little Willy who is a bit of a player apprently got very jealous. Anyway the upshot was that it all got way out of hand and Little Willy insisted that if the producer didnt write Wellard out then he was off.

He then set about making life really difficult for both Dean and Wellard and even poo'd in the producers office but Dean got the blame.

So before you know it, Gafneys eating bugs in the jungle and Wellard is reduced to bit parts playing police dogs in The Bill.

Very sad.

I thought Wellard was dead?

Broken heart, I shouldn't wonder.

usualsuspect · 07/01/2011 11:06

Wellard was played by 3 different dogs ,and yes I did google [needs to go back to work]

IlovePeterAndre · 07/01/2011 14:34

True. The first Wellard (Arthur Farley) was actually 24 years old when he got the part and thats about 109 in dog years. He was required to play the part soley and as the charecter developed the workload increased. Sadly the double shifts caught up with Arthur and he passed away 4 months into the job.

Saddened but mindful of its obligations as an employer the BBC elected to hire two dogs to replace him.

Wellard 1 - was played by Bruno Rossi an accomplished actor with an impressive cv that included commercials, tv and a prominent role alongside Mike Myers in the smash hit movie, The Love God.

Wellard 2 - who my DH reperesents was played by Ted Steer a complete unknown until he was spotted by one of the shows producers dragging his arse along the floor on you've been framed.

So BOTH Wellards got the sack and all because Little Willy was an pampered, insecure and over indulged little dog. But as my DH tells me, thats showbiz!

I bet little willie had toothbrushes packed for him

TheManWhoSoldtheWorld · 07/01/2011 15:18

Why have you packed two toothbrushes now?

Maybe Wellard will send you a congratulations card? If you're a really good girl, maybe Little Willy would too?

That would deffo make up for your DH not being there.

IlovePeterAndre · 07/01/2011 16:41

Duhh...one for me and one for baby??

OP posts:
tethersend · 07/01/2011 16:48

Actually, I'd be quite pleased DH isn't going to be there. Sounds like a win-win situation

Oh, don't forget the Listerine. Babies LOVE Listerine.

SoupDragon · 07/01/2011 16:54

Interesting. Given Wellard was actually played by 3 female dogs.

SoupDragon · 07/01/2011 16:55

And actually arrived on set 2 years after Little Willy departed.

TheManWhoSoldtheWorld · 07/01/2011 16:56

Hilarious! Yes, listerine is a must, also if you have the time get a sonic toothbrush for both of you. They clean better donchaknow.

I'm sure you could do next day delivery with Amazon or summat.

TheManWhoSoldtheWorld · 07/01/2011 16:57

Ghost of Little Willy?

IlovePeterAndre · 07/01/2011 17:39

Soupdragon, you are ill informed. Despite what you have read all Wellards were male.

Granted Wellard appeared two years after Willy departed but Buster Furlong (his real name) was retained by the BBC in and advisory capacity and its during this period he made his feelings clear.

The pugfaced arsehole.

Yes dear, of course. Now, shall I just refasten your straight jacket and put you back in your nice soft room...?
