Hi all, I recently had my 3rd baby via C-Section, my first and second C -Sections were emergencies, this one was planned, it was not a good experience there were alot of complications with scar tissue and I ended out being in theatre for 3 hours and lost alot of blood, after the operation the consultant a lovely lady spoke to me and advised I do not have any more children for at least 2 years! this has sort of upset my family plans as i wanted 1 more but not leaving too long between them (a year at most) what would you do, would you wait or go for it an hope for the best?

I agree with everyone who said listen. You don't have to give up the idea, you need to talk some more about options. I have had one c-section and two vaginal births and nearly lost my baby and my own life during the last delivery. We have decided no more babies though I did want 2 more.

I have three children. DS1 born by EMCS, DS2 born by VBAC but forceps and shoulder dystocia, DD born by ELCS. After my daughter was born I was told that there was a tear in my uterus. That she was not telling me not to have any more children but if I did they would have to be delivered by ELCS pre-36 weeks. I just got the feeling that If I had another child I would be putting both myself and the child at risk. It's not worth it. I am grateful for the children I have and want to make sure that I am around for them. Take the advice you are given.

Yes, I would listen. I decided for myself to stop at 2 straightforward c-sections as I wasn't prepared to risk anything going wrong.

One of my friends was told to stop at 2 c-sections too (scar tissue complications I think), her DH has had the snip IIRC.

Sections take their toll, the consultant isn't saying it to piss you off, she doesn't want you to end up seriously ill - or worse Sad.

Better to get away with your health still intact IMO.

sorry it has taken me so long to come back, thank you all for your opinions, i really appreciate them.

I think I will take some more medical advice before making any sort of decision.
