Does it eventually grow back or is it gone forever once they've pecked it to death??

Had to share - we went to Daylesford Organic yesterday and they had the lovliest hen houses I was almost persuaded to go back into chicken keeping until i saw the price....there was one there for just under £1,000!!!!!! Unbelievable

we have hen shaped windows - which my dh did himself with a jigsaw - he built the henhouse and put it on wheels too.

gentleotter, have you got heat now?

GentleOtter · 25/03/2008 14:54

Thanks aefondkiss but sadly no. The temp outside has gone up a little but I have a big fire on in the living room and am not straying too far from it today.
I put extra blankets on the baby last night and had the two heaters going but it was still really cold.
We are off to get new wicks this afternoon and I have the delightful job of cleaning out the stinky Rayburn which is circa 1958 and packed with soot. boak.
We are all wearing coats and hats today.Inside.

gentleotter, so sorry you are coldlike us! our situation is only very temporary as our 35 year old boiler is being replaced today. We will have heat and hot water tomorow. Lit a fire too but only have damp wood so it is spitting nicely. we have blankets and dd is cuddling her rabbit to keep her (dd) warm!
